Drama?

Tonight is the Christmas play, and Little Girl is playing Mary.

They are not using a doll for the baby, they are using two of the many nursery kids that happen to be the right ages. One is a small baby, only a couple of months old, and she is terrified of it. The other is a toddler for the scene with the Magi, where the Child was supposed to be a bit older, or so it seems. Apparently that one screams a lot when his mom leaves him on stage, and she is slightly repulsed by all the ick that pours from every orifice.

I am so looking forward to this. That screaming laughter, followed by the enjoyment of cookies and punch, will be yet another rendition of the Christmas story that leaves everyone smiling and with a great story to tell.

Best two I've heard so far is the one where the baby spit up on Joseph, who just turned to the audience and said, "What do you expect, he's a baby!" and the one in which one of the tiny angels finally noticed, during the play, that the doll was hers from home, and started saying, "My baby! My baby!" in the middle of it all.

We'll see if this one ranks up there, and if so, I'll provide gory details tomorrow.

On the kitten front, they are all eating, and leaving nasty messes all over the floor. Beats the alternative by a mile.
