Tuesday Coffee Chat: Gratitudes

Rory Bore at Ink Interrupted hosts the Tuesday Coffee Chat, and this weeks topic is,  Yesterday was Canadian Thanksgiving.... so I'm in a turkey coma.   Let's all show 2 minutes of Gratitude.

There are so many reasons to be grateful.  Every evening, i list one thing for which i am grateful on a forum that has a gratitude list.  It keeps me looking for gratitudes throughout the day so i can list one, and some days more than one.

The weather has gotten cool enough on many nights to open the windows and turn off the A/C, which is currently not leaking!  That's a huge gratitude.  If we can get through this season, perhaps we can save up enough to do some major repairs in the spring, before we need the A/C again.

Bigger Girl got me to help her study for her microbiology test.  It was fun, and i was so grateful to be able to do that.

Yesterday, i had a day off!  That does not happen much.  Ms. S called on Sunday to cancel because she has plumbers all over her house cutting off the gas to her very dangerous gas wall heaters and she is stressed out.  By the time i go back, those will be history and she will again have hot water and a stove, and we will both be grateful for that.

Little Girl called me, and i am so grateful when i can hear her voice.  She's very excited, she has learned to start IVs!  They are doing the combat medic portion of her training, and we are approved to be allowed on the base for her graduation.  My friend Grace, who hosted us for Sanity-fest last month, has said Sweetie and i may stay in her guest room when we go there for the graduation.  That will save us money and i am thankful for that.  Now we just need gas and food money, which i am slowly gathering.

rEcess went well last week, and we only had 6 adult volunteers!  We were badly outnumbered, and are grateful that everything was like clockwork, all of the children had fun, everyone got medications or diapers or tube feedings on time even if we were short-staffed.  Also, a very kind couple from the church provided a meal for our volunteers, fried chicken and cole slaw and egg rolls, and everyone loved it and some of us brought leftovers home.  My boys were very grateful for the leftovers!

It can get as complicated or as simple as you want, and the list can go on and on, but right at this moment, i am just grateful that air and salvation are still free.

  5. I am a strong believer in daily gratitude as a reminder to ourselves of how much God loves us, even during the times when life is hard. It was nice to read about you having a whole day off, I know what a blessed relief that was at least you got to do your own things on your own time, though knowing you I doubt you had your feet up for very long! :-)

  6. We had our windows wide open all day yesterday - mostly because hubby was sanding them and painting them (they were looking dreadful), but at night it actually got quite cold and it was nice to snuggle under the duvet. Then we could hear the coyotes howling from the woods. Always cool, but mostly because I am grateful that they are a lot further away than they sound!
