Feline Stink Eye and Friendly Fill-Ins

Feline Friday is hosted by Steve, The Burnt Food Dude, and i'm going to believe it's because he likes cats.
Feline Friday is simple to join. All you have to do is..

1) post a picture, drawing, cartoon or video of a cat (They may be silly or cute)

2) go to Steve's page, linked above, then on the menu bar click on the Feline Friday tab to get the code

3) paste the code under your cat picture

4) add your name and link

That’s all there is to it! Be sure to check back every so often and visit all the Feline Friday bloggers. Also, please leave a nice comment on their blogs. Nasty comments will be deleted!

Dansig is giving me the stink eye over a recent purchase -- a vacuum cleaner!

Did you really have to buy one of these...things!

Friendly Fill-Ins are easy to do. There are four statements: the first two statements are provided by Ellen of 15AndMeowing, and the final two are offered by McGuffy Ann Morris of McGuffy's Reader. They try to make sure the statements will be fun to both answer and share. The linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM on Friday. Please head over to one of their sites, link up, and share your thoughts!

My fill-ins for the statements are underlined:

Week 36: January 13, 2017

1. My guiding word for 2017 is _____________________.

2. ________________________ class reunion.

3. Truth be told I am superstitious about ___________________.

4. Lately, I have been ______________________.

1. My guiding word for 2017 is prayer.  Everyone and everything needs some, as far as i can tell, and the kind of work i do lends itself to spending a lot of time praying.

2. No invitations have made their way to my home for the last several class reunions.  Yes, i'm on the mailing list.  Yes, i get a "save the date" notice.  Next thing i get is the newsletter telling me how much fun they had.  Yes, i get all the other newsletters from the school to alumni also.  Being that i wasn't with the popular crowd, my guess is someone really doesn't want me there, and that's fine.

3. Truth be told, i am superstitious about having money in my pocket on New Year's Eve.  Supposedly being broke that night means you will stay broke all year.  While i don't really believe that, i'm not going to take a chance!

4. Lately, i have been wondering how big our tax bill will be this year.  We scrape by month to month, but according to the government, we owe more every single year.

  2. Messymimi, Everyone needs prayers! As my belated Mother-in-law would say, "You can't get too many prayers!" Now, ain't that the truth? I've not heard the superstition about having money in your pocket New Year's Eve and I'm with you, why take chances? :) I love all the tid-bits you shared at the end of your post. My favorite is about Friday the 13th - Blame Someone Else Day. That's a good one! Can I use that every day? Have a good weekend and be blessed, my friend! ;)

  3. Your kitty is adorable. He does look upset about the vacuum though :) Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Prayer is an excellent guiding word. I hope you don't own more in taxes than usual. Have a nice weekend!

  4. Our Little Bit hated the vacuum too. Hated it. I can see why you got the stink eye.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday. ☺

  5. None of my four like the vacuum cleaner, to them it's a noisy, scary monster that interrupts their peaceful naps! I have no desire to return for class reunions, though I have a few friends from school I stay in touch with. Quiet time while cleaning is great prayer time, anytime is great prayer time! We all have a lot to pray about these days, including government, and taxes too! One day at a time, we will make it thru by God's grace!

  7. St. Paul said to pray without ceasing. I know I talk to God all of the time, about everything. I think as long as we keep the people in our lives who truly care, that is what matters. The ones who expect too much and then fall away show their colours.
Cute photo! It amazes me how even the tiny rescue kittens always hate the vacuum cleaner! Hugs!

  9. Never, heard the the one about money in your pocket on NYE....just gives you more for the IRS to take away in April.

  10. Those people on the committee that sends out the invitations to the reunions should be horsewhipped if they are not sending you invitations. It is their loss anyway. Have a great weekend.

  11. I'm sorry that you owe more and more in taxes each year. That stinks.

I'm sorry the reunion people are being so rude to you. Like David said, it is there loss. You're a great gal!

Thank you for sharing this idea of money in your pocket on New Year's Eve. I don't remember hearing that one before. I had some in my Stuart bank, does that count? :)

We've always heard that one should have greens and black-eyed peas on New Year's Day. That is how we grew up and that is what we do. We also generally have ham with it. The greens represent regular money and the peas represent the jingly money. We always have collard greens, but turnip or mustard greens are acceptable substitutes.

Prayer is a perfect guide word. :)

All of those history snippets about radios were really interesting. I don't have any recollection of a cruise ship sinking in 2012. How sad and another good reason to not go on a cruise. That Italian earthquake must have been tremendous to take so many lives. How awful that must have been.

    Have a blessed weekend. :)

  12. My cats hate the house monster. As soon as it comes out of the closet they disappear. Can't go wrong with prayer as your guiding word!

  13. A vaccuum! The eternal enemy of cats everywhere! I'm sorry to hear your tax bills is so annoying. I always worked for others, so the taxes were taken out and April saw a refund. I hope the money in your pocket on New Year's Eve helps you through 2017!

  14. Money in your pocket on New Years??!!! Well then, that explains everything!!! And yeah, 3 kids, one income, everything is taxed from our pay to anything we buy... and still every year we owe. Like...how even?!
