Sphynx Cats and Friendly Fill-ins

Feline Friday is usually hosted by Steve, The Burnt Food Dude, but he had surgery recently.  Sandee of Comedy Plus has agreed to step in and host until he's recovered.

Feline Friday is simple to join. All you have to do is..

1) post a picture, drawing, cartoon or video of a cat (They may be silly or cute)

2) go to Sandee's page, linked above, then on the menu bar click on the Feline Friday tab to get the code

3) paste the code under your cat picture

4) add your name and link

That’s all there is to it! Be sure to check back every so often and visit all the Feline Friday bloggers. Also, please leave a nice comment on their blogs. Nasty comments will be deleted!

We had two very temporary residents at the cat shelter this week:

Sphynx cats, a brother and sister,.

Their owner couldn't care for them, so she gave them to a relative who decided they were too much trouble (they require a lot of special care for their skin) and took them to the pound.  We have a great relationship with our local pound, they try to rehome as many animals as they can working with us and other organizations.  They called us, we got them and took them in for a check-up the next day, and the vet's receptionist adopted them immediately!

Their skin is soft and, as you can see up close, very wrinkly.

Friendly Fill-Ins are easy to do. There are four statements: the first two statements are provided by Ellen of 15AndMeowing, and the final two are offered by McGuffy Ann Morris of McGuffy's Reader. They try to make sure the statements will be fun to both answer and share. The linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM on Friday. Please head over to one of their sites, link up, and share your thoughts!

My fill-ins for the statements are underlined:

Week 38: January 27, 2017

1. I have seen _______________________ on Broadway.

2. My Chinese zodiac sign is ___________________.

3. Celebrities _____________________.

4. A ______________ day is _______________.

1. I have seen Whoopee! and Children of a Lesser God on Broadway.

2. My Chinese zodiac sign is the rabbit.  No, i'm not sure what that means, if anything.  Astrology of any sort has never interested me.

3. Celebrities are just people.  It would be nice if they'd all work to be good examples, but they are subject to the same foibles and follies as the rest of us.  No, i wouldn't want to trade places with any of them.

4. A good day is one where i still have energy at the end of the day.  A great day is when i get a good nap!

  2. They are most good looking cats. I'm so happy they had a quick happy ending. I'm also happy your shelter has such a great relationship with your local animal shelter. Excellent.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday. ☺

  3. When I was first introduced to the breed, I thought they were ugly, but over the years, I have come around in a big way. They're adorable and I'm glad they both went to the same home. That was the receptionist's lucky day.

  4. Those sphynx cats are adorable. I follow some blogs that have them and they require baths because of skin oils, they lack the fur to absorb them. I would still love to have one someday. Thank you for participating in the fill-ins, great answers. Naps do make a good day even better :)Have a nice weekend!

  5. I am so happy that the sphynx cats were able to find a new home so quickly, and with someone who will make sure they are given the care they need. They always look so very naked to me! :-) I agree with you about celebrities... just people, and why do we make such a fuss about them. How about looking at some real heroes and heroines instead! I thin you are doing amazing if you have any energy left at the end of day, you keep so busy! You will never get old, because you won't have time to! :-) XOXO

  6. What a dynamic duo! I love happy endings, too. Celebrities need to remember that we made them what they are. They are supposed to entertain us. Period. There are better, more substantial heroes, than actors and singers. Thanks for joining us, Mimi! HUGS.

  8. personally I do not like sphynx cats

  9. Being hairless sort of defeats the purpose of having a pet to...pet. But I suppose they could be adopted by people with allergies. Nice the receptionist was so smitten by them. I looked up my zodiac sign. It's the Ox, and reading about it was the most interesting thing I did all day! Have a great weekend, Mimi! :)

  10. Good answers in the fill in. I think naked dogs and cats are very interesting, but not attractive.

  11. Our friends have a Sphinx cat and it's a lot of work.

  12. My daughters friend has a cat like this! What a kind heart to help them get rehomed. I am often baffled at people and the things they do! Pets are such a lifetime commitment. But I guess many don't care for commitment. You have such a kind heart.Thank you for sharing so many wonderful other things here.

  13. It is great that you can help find these animals a new home.

  14. I am glad those kitties found a new home so quickly. That is great. I also think it is great that your animal shelter is truly a shelter for these animals. The animal "shelter" here in our town is a killing field and the animal catcher destroys kitties as soon as he gets them. He's a meanie. May our Heavenly Father continue to bless you as you help take care of His precious creatures!

Energy at the end of the days seems like a thing of these past these days, doesn't it? I know it is for me. :)

Wow, I didn't know that Western Union was still sending telegrams into the 2000s! I thought that ended a long time ago.

    Have a blessed week. :)
