Tuesday Coffee Chat: Luxurious

Rory Bore at Ink Interrupted hosts the Tuesday Coffee Chat, and this week she asks the question, What is your favourite indulgence?

Indulgences can come in many forms.  Seeing that i battled my weight for over 30 years, it's no wonder my first thought was food as an indulgence.  Even though i now try to eat healthfully, i do still enjoy a bit of coconut milk "ice cream" once in so often.

Restaurant meals can be an indulgence -- as i noted once, when we were being seated, since i don't have to cook it and clean up after it, any table in the restaurant will do!

My idea of an indulgence has expanded to include what one friend has called "feets up!" time.  Any day where i can lean back, put my feet up, and do a crossword puzzle feels like an indulgent day to me.

Our yearly family vacation is an indulgence, one where i get to spend time inspecting the insides of my eyelids for cracks.  That's one of my favorite things to do while on vacation!

Going on my yearly sanity retreat is an indulgence, and so is going to meet my friend Script whenever she is within driving distance.

Work makes every day off seem like a luxury, too.  If i have no place to be on that day off and can sleep in, i've hit the jackpot!

Indulgences are in the eye of the beholder, and can be large or small.  Most days, i try to enjoy the small things and remember that a lot of what we take for granted today was a big luxury not so long ago.
