Yummy Thankfuls

Ten Things of Thankful

Since i am writing this when i am hungry, this week i am going to list the foods for which i am most thankful.

Spinach and bananas top the list.  Cold baby spinach leaves, a frozen banana or two, some ice cubes, and a Vita-mix equals green smoothie magic.

Cashew nuts, macadamia nuts, mostly any kind of nuts.  And nut butters.

Sunflower seeds, chia seeds, sesame seeds, and pepitas (pumpkin seeds).

Avocados!!!  (The best breakfast ever is avocado-mango salad.)

Trader Joe's Contemplates Inner Peas.

Grapes and peaches and mangos and oranges and grapefruit and pineapple and any kind of melon.

Berries of all shapes and sizes and colors.

Broccoli, and most other veggies, too.

Brussels sprouts, raw, and Brussels sprouts sautéed in coconut oil with a bit of sea salt.

Raw cacao nibs.

Okay, now i really need to go fix myself some dinner.  List the foods for which you are most thankful, or anything else you are thankful for and want to list, and join up with Ten Things of Thankful.  You will always be glad you did.

  1. I'd leave spinach off the list, but the others are fine choices.

  2. A nice list of healthy foods. You do well with that.

I can eat meat or not, but usually have a small piece of meat with my dinner meal. Lots of salads and veggies though. We do eat pretty healthy around here.

Have a fabulous day and weekend filled with thankfulness. ☺

  8. Now you've made me hungry! You have a gift for seeing the blessings in little things and I realized how much naturally awesome food we have access to and rarely give a thought to. All of the above are healthy and delicious and we are so very blessed with these gifts in our lives. Food not only nourishes but has such strong psychological effects both in memory and in pleasure. I think I could eat avocados three times a day and never tire of them. The same is true of nuts and seeds and most fruits. I'm also a big fan of squash in all varieties, so much flavor! Thank you for a delightful list of reasons to smile, Mimi! <3
