Hurrying to Nowhere (Cajun Joke) and Sunday Selections

(Because some people like Blogger and some like WordPress, i am putting the same content at both.  If you would prefer to read this on the other site, it is linked here.)

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, don't expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes.

Yesterday was my every-other-Saturday trip to see Grandma and Grandpa.  On the way down, the police presence on the freeways was, shall we say, thick.  My cruise control was set exactly to the speed limit and i passed several people who were stopped by the officers.

As i was getting up on the spillway bridge, i somehow knew there was another officer up there, instinct, i guess.  Sure enough, some hot shot in a truck came whipping around me on the onramp and passed the car parked on the side of the road.  When the officer in that car turned the lights on and started moving, i slowed from my already legal pace, as did the three cars near me, and we let the officer by.

Hot shot, as soon as he realized there were lights on that car, put on his hazards and pulled over, he knew he was caught red handed -- er, um, lead footed.

It probably ruined his Saturday, and as much as i wanted to feel sorry for him, i didn't.

Boudreaux had done been savin' up his money fo' years an' years, an' fin'ly de big day come -- he goin' buy hisse'f a sport car!

He go him to de dealer dat he done been talkin' to, an' he get it all done an' take him deliv'ry o' his new li'l honey.  He decide on de way home he goin' try it out good an' put it on de big highway, de Highway 90.

He be out dere cruisin' an' havin' hisse'f a good time, an' he don't know dat Officer Gautraux done be out dere.  O' course, Officer Gautraux get him on dat fancy radar machine, an' he come pullin' out wit' de light and de siren.

Boudreaux done know when he been caught, so he pull over, and Officer Gautraux come walkin' up an' he say, "Well, well, I done been waitin' fo' you all day!"

An' Boudreaux say, "Mais!  I done got here as fast as I could!"

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files.  It is now hosted by River at Drifting Through Life.

Grandma apparently has a new passion for fairy gardens, and has been busy.

Those fairy gardens are too cute. I see the pieces at Michael's craft store and I am tempted.

  11. I think if you put salted peanuts in a soda drink, the salt will make it more fizzy and it will make it spew all over you. Not that I am a country hick and have ever done that, mind you. HA HA!
