Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

***********************************

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border She and Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey take turns providing a theme each week.  This weeks theme is Your Favorite Drink.

Ode to Coffee

Black like the swamp mud,
Hot like the bayou,
And make sure there is
Plenty of it, too.

Don't skimp on those grounds
If you know what i mean,
Otherwise we won't have
Enough caffeine.

There is nothing to replace
That morning cup,
Here's mud in your eye,
Bottoms up!

  2. Nice poem on coffee. I love my coffee too, not inthe morning though. And nothing beats the smell of freshly ground coffee beans. Coffee will taste like that in Heaven!

  3. Love those ginger tabbies. Most of the time I love the smell of coffee wafting from the "Hole in the Wall" cafes while I'm waiting for my bus, but sometimes the coffee smells burnt and bitter.

  6. My mom doesn't like coffee, and when she drinks it, she gets tired. Warm beverages of any kind are not her thing. She is the queen of ice water in the morning to get going.

  16. Sweet kittens!

I love your poem and laughed out loud at the meme! When I had to give up coffee, it was rough. I had been using it as a way to deal with being tired, and had to learn a "new way" :)

  17. Mimi,

I like your Ode to Coffee poem and the meme that followed. It sounds reasonable to me. :) lol I can't imagine not having my coffee but I can skip it one day and survive okay. After that there's no guarantees. lol I remember watching Marcus Welby as a kid. That was a good show. I hope the new kitties are placed in a good home soon. Have a good week, my friend.
