Meet Me There (Ten Things of Thankful)

***********************************

Thankful Day is back, and i am close to being caught up on all of the blogs i follow.  Of course, i keep having to go to work and falling behind again.

That's okay, work is one thing i am thankful for.  This week i missed some because of clients cancelling at the last minute, and we will feel the pinch.

Also i am thankful for meetings.  (Not all of these are weekly meetings, some are monthly, there's no way i could do all of this in one week.)

Church meetings, every Sunday, at a church that challenges me to be the hands and feet of Love to as many people as possible.

Al-Anon meetings, because we all have stuff inside we need to acknowledge we are powerless over, and it really is okay to not be okay sometimes.

Prayer meetings, because prayer changes and strengthens me, even if it does not always change anything else.

Ladies' Circle meetings, two different ones because two books were offered this season and i wanted to study both.

Friday morning and Sunday evening Bible studies that are both good reminders to get out and do good, not just sit back on my blessed assurances.

Meeting up with a friend with whom i'd lost touch -- this was an unplanned meeting, and ended up being quite a happy one, too.

Finally, i'm also happy for the kind of meetings that make my day, when i meet someone i can help at the cat shelter or the homeless ministry or other places.

Some people knock meetings, i think they are just going to the wrong kinds.

Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Kristi and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.

  4. I suspect the meetings people grouse about are the ones they have no choice over - free will makes all the difference.
(For example, it allows me to eschew the Rattlesnake shindig and head on over to the Oyster Festival, instead! ;-p)

  6. I'm so thankful for my friend Al who is living in a nursing home at the moment. I'm thankful because Al's daughter Jasmine has arrived to visit her father. I saw last night and she was telling me that when she entered her father's room ( many times Al doesn't even know the people who are there ) the first thing he said to his daughter was " I love you " to her. Thank God.
