Trying and Taxes and Laughter, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

***********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

To anyone i offended with my silly poem yesterday, please know that the reason i love that quote from that character is it is so ludicrous to me as to be quite funny.  It always makes me laugh because it is such patent nonsense, and no offense was intended.

On Sunday night, i told my Sweetie i had to give him an A for effort.  He'd twisted his ankle after church, not badly, but badly enough that he wanted to stay home and prop it with ice on it, so i went to Sunday evening prayer meeting and Bible study alone.  When i got home, he'd brought out the garbage for Monday morning collection.  Of course, he'd put the bags in the recycle can, not the garbage can, and i had to fish them out and put them in the right can and drag the one back in and the other out, but he tried, and it was a diligent effort.

Yesterday's star conversation with Dr. D:

Dr. D:  I have to get my taxes done.

mimi:  Yes, you have until the 15th.  Then again, since you don't owe anything and are due a refund, they won't fuss if you are late.

Dr. D:  I need for you to help me sort the papers.

mimi:  Sure, we can go through them.

Dr. D:  And you need to tell me what paperwork I need for my taxes.

mimi:  That's above my pay grade!

Actually, she knows what she needs, she has her list from last year to go by.

A few more funnies sent from a friend:

Have a wonderful Tuesday, everyone!

  2. I'd love to know the story behind that milk fridge sign.

  3. Like River I'd so like to know the story behind that sign.
And I would like to apoplogize for my rant yesterday. Your poem was well written, and yes this quote is ludicrious. I must blame my lack of understanding the twinkle in your eye on my insufficient language skills. Humour and jokes are - next to prepositions - the hardest thing to master in a foreign language.

  4. You've reminded me ... we've ran out of milk. Off to the shops once more.

    God bless.

  5. One has to really wonder why that sign is on the milk door! As for the mannequin, it is truly correct for these days, which is actually a sad thing.

  6. Hope your Sweetie's ankle is better now. I haven't seen such mannequin over here.

  7. Love all the funnies and I had to laugh at Mr. Sweetie. He did try, but it was more work for you just to straighten out what he did.

Love all the signs and the second one applies when you're dealing with Dr. D.

Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.

  14. Homemade cookies day. And it's the one day I *haven't* baked! Ha, oh, well... I have heard that the reason it's a stairway is that one has to put forth effort... :)

Having been working with the public for a while, I think we need that Not An Exit sign in more places... Sigh. Heh...

  20. Your sweetie's recycle/garbage faux pas sounds like something my absent-minded professor sweetie would do. ;)

Dr. D sure relies on you for a lot! I'm happy to say I managed to get our taxes all ready to rock'n'roll - usually I'm finishing them up at crunch time! :)

Your funnies are hilarious!! I, too, would like to know the story behind the milk fridge sign!
