Tired Friends (Awww Monday). Thought Provoking Quote of the Week, and Loser (Poetry Monday)

***********************************

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

On Saturday when i was there, Lulu had a visitor, Abbie.  They played so hard, they fell asleep!

Lulu snoozing on the couch.

Abbie napping on the bed.

Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's a Thought Provoking Quote of the Week in her honor.

We had our elections back in October, since all of ours were for local and state positions, and the run-off is this coming Saturday for the few races that need a run-off.  To me, this quote on the Civic Association announcement board is quite profound:

An excellent way to thank veterans, exercise your right to vote!

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border.  She and Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey take turns providing a theme each week, and Mother Owl almost always participates, too.  This weeks theme is Glasses, so this is all about my Sweetie.

They were just right over here, I swear,
Now I can't find them anywhere,
No, I don't have another pair,
Honey, I can't find my glasses!

There's no way for me to see,
I can't drive and I've places to be,
Please get over here and help me,
Help me find my glasses!

Yes, I know that it's a chore,
Yes, it really is a bore,
It seems to happen even more,
That I lose my glasses!

All my life I have misplaced,
To look for them around I've raced,
Your weariness of looking is well based,
But I'm always losing my glasses!

The keys are also always lost,
Watches, coats, umbrellas tossed,
My losing stuff has a heavy cost,
Still, please help me find my glasses!

No, I can't promise it won't happen again,
I'll lose them by tomorrow and then
The next day as well, until the end of when,
In heaven, I finally won't need glasses!

  1. Funny poem. I remember the one time I thought I'd lost my glasses and picked up my daughter's glasses thinking they were mine only to find I was still wearing mine when I tried to put hers on.

  10. I can't say I feel the need to celebrate the birth of integral calculus... but that is, of course, just one woman's opinion. YMMV.

  14. Your poem made me smile, Mimi. I never lost my glasses when I was growing up because they were always on my face :) Since my cataract surgery and better vision, I've misplaced them a few times when I've been switching between reading glasses and my regular ones.
