Little Girl's Dog (Awww Monday), Inspiring Quote of the Week, and No Playing Favorites (Poetry Monday)

***********************************

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

Coda is here while Little Girl is doing her military work right now.  As a medic, she is wearing full gear and testing people.  We get to help do our part by taking care of her pup, and i've been sending her pictures:

Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border.  She and Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey take turns providing a theme each week.   Charlotte/Mother Owl almost always participates, too.  This week the theme is Pets.

Pets have been a part of my life
In my family from the start,
When i married we kept that tradition,
My children have done their part.

In the course of years we've had
Cats and dogs quite a few,
Doves and chickens and ducks as well,
Budgies, gerbils and hamsters, too.

Then there've been rabbits and rats,
And mice and turtles and snakes,
Ferrets and plenty of fish in tanks,
Even a squirrel, for heaven's sakes!

Please don't ask me to pick which one
Would my favorite be,
Because at each moment i love the one
That happens to be sitting on me!

  1. Coda has me thinking about my Max (Mad Max) the first and the second, both had the same name, best dogs I ever owned.
Nice poem. I've had pets over the years, but not continuously, there's been years when I had none.

Your poem is so true - I could never pick a favourite, which is why I had to write my poem to "all" my pets, past and present :)
