How Useful Is A Dishwasher and Other Appliance Shenanigans, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

***********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus

What did we do for our anniversary yesterday?  Sweetie ran errands for The Big Boss, and i took Dr. D to NOLA for a funeral in the bad weather.  And managed to get her there and back on time and in one piece in spite of the wrecks on the highways.

Yep, it was kind of a bust in the celebrating department, that will have to wait until payday on Friday.  That’s okay, it’s not the specific day that matters.

Before Dr. D and i left, i tried to get all of the usual cleaning done.  Looking at the pile of dishes in despair, i told her i was going to use the dishwasher.

She said, “Well, it’s rather useless.”

You’re right, i told her, until you unload the clean dishes, it is!

Yes, i unloaded and got it reloaded and run before we had to leave.  No need to place bets on whether it will still have all the clean dishes in it next week.

While she was at the funeral, i went to Grandma and Grandpa’s house and cleaned the fridges, something Grandma told me last week she was hoping i could get to soon.

While i was there, Grandpa said that he sometimes cleans the fridge.  Grandma said, “What, once a year?”

“No, about every 3 months I take a rag and wipe it out.  Of course, I don’t move anything, I just clean around it.”

“Are you afraid to move stuff?”

“No, the only thing I’m afraid of is throwing away something you still want.  That’s why I don’t throw anything away until it’s moving on its own!”

On that note, more of the stuff that Grandma forwards to me:

Have a blessed and beautiful Tuesday, everyone!

  1. Had to smile at Grandpa's fridge cleaning method. And why do so many people think a dishwasher will empty itself and put the dishes away?

  9. I've decided I want dishwashing cupboards. You put all your dishes away, put in the soap and press the button. There they wash and there they stay till next time. Hmmm . . . wait a minute. Maybe that's what Dr. D has! ;)

  10. You are a saint for dealing with Dr. D even if you do get paid. I like that rule about waiting until something in the fridge moves on it's own :)
