You Can't Rush Some Things, You Can't Change Others, a Random and Happy Tuesday Post

***********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

A few days ago, #2 Son came by to meet up with a friend so they could go fishing in the creek.  He and Sweetie just missed seeing each other.  Sweetie later asked, "Why did he come by?"

To go fishing.

"But didn't he come back in the house after they'd left for the creek?"

Yes, to get the cutting board so he could cut up chicken gizzards to chum the water, and to get the worms out of the fridge.

"Sounds like nothing's changed since he lived here!"

Indeed.  We still never know what adventure one of them is planning, or what we will find in our fridge.

On Saturday, as Grandpa and i pulled up to Sam's Club to get our order brought to the car, Grandpa said the same thing he always says.  "Let me see if I can remember how to work this Sam's Club thing on my phone."

He always remembers.  This time, however, he varied things a little when he added as we left, "Well, we're way ahead of schedule!"

Upon my saying that i didn't know we were on a schedule, and did he have an appointment, "Nope!"

That man is always in a tearing hurry.  The only thing he couldn't rush was when a patient was in labor.  That, he used to say, takes as long as it takes (as long as there is no emergency).

Yesterday, Carl asked for a sandwich with very lightly toasted bread (30 seconds, by the timer, thankyouverymuch), lettuce, washed and dried so as not to make the bread soggy, guacamole spread (on the lettuce, not right up against the bread), and bologna.  This is the same young man who sits at the table with a dozen herb and seasoning bottles in front of him and sprinkles something different on each bite.  Food is an adventure for him.

His breakfast was a huge bowl of cereal, a two egg and cheese omelet, a bowl of oatmeal, and the rest of a smoothie from the freezer.  He then insisted on finding something else to take with him for a snack, "In case I'm still hungry!"

As his mother, Ms. V, says, "It's a good thing he works.  He loves to eat so much that if he didn't work, he'd be a blimp!"

Oh, and i found the crushed mint spice bottle he was looking for -- in the medicine box.  "Someone told me it helps with an upset stomach!" he said, when asked why he would put it there.  He had, of course, forgotten that he did so.

And now for more group photos, and a few more shots of what inspires the fashion designers (courtesy of Grandma forwarding them):

Hope everyone has a blessed and beautiful Tuesday!

The baggy pants and the diaper made me laugh out loud. They just don't know how ridiculous they look.
