Full Nest (Awww Monday), Inspiring Quote of the Week, and Duds (Poetry Monday)

***********************************

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

These babies are almost grown now, and the nest is getting very crowded, but you've got to admit mama chose a great place.  Whenever mama is not there with them, the two little ones stay very still.

Sparks, the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, is on hiatus, so here's an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

***********************************

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border.  Jenny at Procrastinating Donkey is taking a blog break due to her husband's health concerns, but she might or might not choose to hop in sometimes..   Charlotte/Mother Owl almost always participates, too.  This week the theme is Clothes.

Duds

Clothes are what we wear
So our backsides won't be bare.
Once you are over the age of two,
Running around that way just will not do.
As i'm  not into fashion,
For that i've never had a passion,
Jeans are my standard uniform,
And a t-shirt is my norm.
It's easy, i don't have to think,
Ready for work quick as a wink,
Tough and sturdy, it's the way
To get me through my rough work day.

Not sure yet about the theme for next week, perhaps one time we could use art as our subject, but i will update when it is decided.

  1. Definitely an awwww moment.
Practical and comfortable clothing for me too. With NO special washing requirements.

  2. Nice poem, well written - and I agree. T-shirt and jeans, or T-shirt and a skirt is my 'uniform' of choice as well.

  3. I love being clothed, can't imagine I ever ran around naked even as young as two. but I'm no fashion plate either, jeans or shorts and t-shirts are my thing.

  6. These two little ones seem to be very well taken care of.
We will have to think of something to do for Fish Tank Floor Show Night, because Problem fish really work tirelessly to make our living room a better place.

  8. Mimi,

How cool to capture young birds still in their nest but isn't it a bit late in the year for babies to be born? Great poem but what a revelation it's a crime to go without your clothes after the age of 2. lol For most of us that's a good thing, right? :D I love your Sparks! Have a sparkletastic day, my friend!

  10. Awww, that bird family did a great job building a nest in a very good place. So cute.

Love your Spark. There sure is a lot of whining going on.

Duds is right and we dress alike. I go for comfort, not fashion.

Thank you for joining the Awww Mondays Blog Hop.

Have a fabulous Awww Monday and week. Big hug. ♥

  11. Perfect poem, Mimi! I’m the same. Utilitarian and comfortable. Fashion takes a distant third! ;)
And ‘pictures’ was what I chose for today, so we’re nearing your category of ‘art’. How about we broaden it to ART!
And I’m tearfully grateful for any other suggestions you may have as to topics! :)

  17. Awwwww! The pics remind me of the birds that nested and raised the young just outside the rear door of the shop I had in Noosa Heads back in the 80s. I loved watching the daily progress of the chicks. :)
