New 'Do (Six Sentence Story), Fence With Flowers (Good Fences), Delights (Sammy's Poetry Day) and Walking (Brian's Thankful Thursday)

***********************************

"I look like a poodle!" Ms. S said, staring at herself in the mirror.

Two days before, we'd set everything up (oxygen tank in the walker basket and ready, walker in position) so she could get to the hairdresser, and the day before she'd been up to going and got her hair cut and permed.

"All I wanted was a little more volume to my hair, it's so limp these days," she said, turning to go sit on the couch.

Well, i told her, i happen to like your new 'do, i think it looks spunky, and you know what the difference is between a good haircut and a bad haircut, right?

"No, what?"

It made her laugh when i said, two weeks!

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Volume.

Gosia at Looking for Identity has taken over Good Fences, and it's now Good Fences Around The World.  Post a picture of a fence or gate, link back to her blog, and go visit other blogs to see what interesting fences there are out in this big world.

Please note that Gosia has had trouble with her blog over the past couple of weeks, including having many of her posts erased unintentionally.  She might or might not be up to posting today, but that's okay, i want to keep participating in support of her being able to come back.

Looking through old photos, i noticed how nice this area looks, the fence and some of Mr. BA's plants:

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day!  This week's image and my poem:

Oh, the tastes you can taste,
The flavors you can savor,
The smells so delightful,
Just do me a favor,
Don't let too many of
These treats past my lips,
'Cause then there's no way
To get them off my hips!

Brian of Brian's Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   It's time to share something for which i am thankful.

Today i am thankful Ms. S is walking better and better.  She and i are taking more walks together, and it is helping, as she was even able to get to the hairdresser, as noted above.  And no, she does not look like a poodle, as she said, she's just not used to all the curls yet.  It looks very good.

  1. My mother said it was four weeks between a good and a bad haircut. Mine grows so fast two is closer to the mark.
Love your poem. I avoid treats like those.

  2. My hair grows slowly, so a bad haircut can last for months, then I'll wake up one day and realise it has grown past my collar seemingly overnight and looks decent again.
I love the cakes display photo.

  15. Ah the perm! My middle older sister was a beautician and I was her model. My hubby always said no more Little Orphan Annie curls pleeeeease! But when I was younger I wore my hair longer and curly was easy to do. Yes two weeks makes a difference! I bet she looks sweet. :-) HUGS and LOVE
