All These Things, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

 ***********************************

Where to begin?  Since i was too busy to take many notes this week, i'm just not sure!

Anyway, Ms. PA is healing up, in a bit less pain, has accepted that she has to have someone there around the clock, and is letting me clean the whole house instead of just dusting and vacuuming.  The area under the toaster oven hasn't been this clean in a while, i am certain.

Ms. S has decided, after i tried to get her to do it for months, that the physical therapist is right and she should use the rollator instead of the standard walker.  Now she can carry things in the basket of the rollator when she needs to, and so she can easily get her condiments for meals or grab something to drink.  She's not just living on peanut butter crackers and Boost on Thursdays and Saturdays when i can't get over there.

Ms. G, out of the blue, has us dust her house two weeks ago.  She's allergic to dust if it's in the air, but if it is simply sitting on a surface, it doesn't bother her, so we usually leave it until it builds up enough for her to get upset about how dusty things look.  Then this past weekend, her Uncle passed away at age 91, and she had to have a houseful of people for the funeral.  Because we'd dusted, i could concentrate on helping her do other things to get ready for company instead of just cleaning.

Ms. RW got her new car, and she is still insisting she will lend it to us when we go on vacation in June.

Ms. SE's husband, Mr. DE, had a good report for me on both his Mom and his Dad.  Mom is holding her own (she's been on hospice care, with her retired doctor husband doing most of her caretaking, for over a year now) and his Dad just had a heart cath procedure and it went well.

Granddaughter has moved back in at Ms. GA and Mr. BA's house, and she and i had a really good discussion about hairstyles when i was there yesterday.  We share the same opinion -- it's hair, it grows back, don't worry about it.

Also, Ms. GA shared some lentil loaf with me, it's so good!

Bigger Girl's tax refund came in and was safely deposited in the bank.

The cat shelter has another new volunteer.

Grandma's birthday was yesterday, and Mother's Day is tomorrow, and so i get to go down there today and clean her house and tomorrow to take her out to lunch.  Two visits in one weekend!

Today is the only moment we have, and today, all is well, for all these things and more i am thankful.

Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Dyanne and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.

  5. My good friend Al, is dying from Parkinson's and dementia. He can no longer eat and is throwing up. I've been praying for him for many years and all that I can do is ask for God to allow Al to have rest. It's been so bad and all I can do is cry.

  7. I haven't let our house cleaners back in the house, and won't until they are vaccinated, so I'm living like Ms. G, only dusting when it bothers me.

  8. I have MsG's dust problem. I can leave it on the furniture and under the bed for months! but when I finally decide to clean, I have to tie a bandanna over my mouth and nose until the air clears again. It helps if I use a damp cloth instead of a dry one or a fluffy duster on a handle, they're mostly useless and just move the dust around anyway.

(gonna go out on a limb here and say, 'You're a bit of a people person*')

*in the ways of a clark i.e. doing it because it is the proper thing to do, not because of how others might respond... cool

  10. Mama has a rollator and loves it. She keeps it handy by her chair. She also has one of these hospital type tables but it's a smaller top, the size of a TV tray, she sits on her couch and uses it to eat her meals. The other nice I thing is that you can sit on the seat of the rollator if your legs get tired. My sister had one which I got for her from a generous lady on Freecycle. I had posted that I was looking for one for my sister who had a fixed income and the one this lady gave was almost brand new. What a blessing. It amazed me how my sister could carry groceries on hers.
