Almost thirt...I trust the meds will do their thing. Almost thirty years ago, I got bitten at the base of my nail by my very fearful cat while at the vet. It was incredibly painful and all these years later, my nail still has a ridge down the length of it where it splits off as soon as it begins to grow out. I never knew of any precautionary treatment for it. Luckily the resulting infection was very localized and short lived.
