Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

Grandma and Grandpa just celebrated a wedding anniversary.  They've been married 62 years.

Boudreaux done got Grand-père Boudreaux de side eye from Grand-mère Boudreaux when he done ax, "Grand-père, how long you an' Grand-mère done be marry?"

An' Grand-père say, "We done been marry over fifty year, an' we done had t'irty good years together!"

Notes and Notations, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

It's a good thing I take notes for Thankful Day, so much happens in a week there's no way I'd remember without a cheat sheet.

I'm thankful for note-taking capabilities on my phone.

Grandma got out of the house and went to church for the second week in a row.  That's huge for her.

#1 Son had a bit of an adventure involving super glue and his car.  Let's just say we're all thankful he got the ignition unstuck (that stuff drips!).

I saw an old friend of my children's whom i hadn't seen in years at a gas station.  It was nice to run into him.

On Monday, i dug out the paperwork i've been wrangling and ran to one of the places you can now go instead of having to wait for hours at the Department of Motor Vehicles.  My driving license was up for renewal and while i was at it, i figured i might as well do that Real ID thing, so i did and i got my star.  I'm thankful it's over!

Tuesday was my annual physical with Dr. BowTie.  His summary was, "What a dandy check-up!"  They did need to run two more tests, and both came back with good results.

Sweetie went to his new ENT (his other ear doctor retired very suddenly) and this doctor asked him immediately if he listens to music with the little wired in-ear headphones.  He does, and the doc pulled the cover piece of one of those out of one ear.  He's thankful it didn't cause an infection and the buzzing in his ear has stopped.

Ms. G had us running all over creation again, i'm thankful for adventures at work.

For many years, we were members of the aquatic club across the street so the kids could swim all summer.  We were rejoining so as to be able to take the grandbaby (when she come), but decided to give the membership to #2 Son and His Bride instead.  I'll still be able to go over there to visit them and take the baby when they can't.  I'm thankful we got all the paperwork finally done this week.

Ms. SE's place was the easiest it's been in a long while, even with having to take the dogs out for potty breaks every hour.

All but three of the shelter cats has fully recovered from the recent panleuk scare, those three are almost totally cleared, there were at least five adoptions while i was there Friday evening, we had plenty of volunteers, and when the cat named Jack decided to take a swipe at me and get his claw stuck in my arm, i'm thankful he retracted it and it came out easily and just left a tiny cut that hardly bled and doesn't hurt.  The poor little guy is stressed as the cat in the cage next to him is unhappy and intake is a difficult place to be but i think both of them will be fine once they get in a room.
