Dad Love, Too (Awww Monday), Inspiring Quote of the Week and Poetry Monday, Uniform

 ***********************************

Awww Monday is hosted by Sandee at Comedy Plus.

Join us every Monday for Awww...Mondays.  Post a picture that makes you say Awww... and that's it.

Make sure you get the code from Sandee's site, linked above, and leave a link to your post so we can visit you.  What better way to start the week than with a smile!

A few weeks ago, i featured what i saw in the church pew, an example of mama love.  Now it's dad's turn.

Sparks is the brainchild of Annie of McGuffy's Reader, who wanted us to post something positive and uplifting at the start of the week.  While she no longer blogs, i like to post an Inspiring Quote of the Week in her honor.

***********************************

Our dear friend Diane is taking a break

accommodations we must make

we miss her poetry and wit

so carry on as Poetry Monday's a hit!

Poetry Monday was started by Diane at On The Alberta/Montana Border Charlotte/Mother Owl and i are keeping it going while she takes a blog break, we hope temporarily.  Anyone else is welcome to join in the fun, just let us know!

This week the theme is Uniform.

This week, two short poems, a haiku and a limerick.

The military is strict,

only a uniform, please,

they are simply trying

to minimize casual tees.

*******

Polishing medieval battle dress

really will not harm her,

after all she said she wanted

a night in, shining armor.

*******

Saw him at the zoo

working in his uniform

he's still my keeper

*******

The nuns eyes were ablaze,

ruined her uniform with pottery glaze,

She said, "Oh, dagnabbit!

I'll need a new habit,

And that takes 21 days!"

*******

Future themes are:

June 23 Uniform (Today!)

June 30 Scramble

July 7 Park

July 14 Salt

July 21 Quince

July 28 Building

Since Diane went on her blog break, Charlotte (Mother Owl) and i have taken turns providing the themes for Monday Poetry and sometimes our muses get a bit stumped.  Beginning in August, we will simply be using the Monday prompts from the 365 Days of Drawing group on Facebook.

  1. Good little poems. I always liked wearing uniform to school, it meant I looked the same as everyone else and no one sawmy home clothes which were often third time handed down hand-me-downs.
