Dealing With Ms. G (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Sammy’s Poetry Day and Brian’s Thankful Thursday

 ***********************************

Ms. G is a force with which to reckon in many ways, and when she wants something done, she is well able to micromanage you down to the most minute detail.

When i got to her place yesterday well ahead of her (she was on an errand of mercy), i knew the drill and was careful to do everything exactly as she would have wanted as she notices even the minutiae.

She'd told me she'd not be long, but i know her well enough to know she isn't going to go anywhere quickly if she has people there to whom she wants to talk as she says, "I'll just be a minute," and then talks for 30.

Ms. G can turn a short conversation into a long, drawn out affair with minutely focused question after question, she never runs out of questions.

She also knows the "right" way to do everything and it better be done her way, she will give me instructions down to the minutest things, including in what order to pick up certain objects she wants carried to the other room.

I like working for her, she is quite amusing to watch especially when she is confronting people she has decided are doing things wrong, they have no idea what they are in for as she starts her questions and homes in on why the person is in the wrong, and she takes her time about it, she is not in any way a minute(wo)man.

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Minute.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day!  This week's image and my poem:

My goodness me

what do I see?

A huge treat jar

right here on the bar.

For a hunger attack,

it's the best snack.

I'll snag two,

one for me, one for you!

  1. Great poem. Treats and hunger can make strange friends.
I so hope that Ms. G also takes the blame when something goes wrong. Decision-making and responsibility should rest on the same shoulders.

  2. Ms G. sounds like a force to be reckoned with. Love the treat seekers and your poem.

  3. You truly are the most patient of people we know. Mom could not deal with being micro managed. She says she is a hound in a human body, never wants to be told what to do and if someone is too pushy she will do the opposite. We are happy you enjoy Mrs G and her quirks.

  4. Mrs G sounds like a woman who knows her mind. And shares it with those around. Not really anything wrong with that when you're accepting of it. What a fence around the mobile home park. And a fun poem to go with a funny picture

  5. I'm afraid I have the same talking-gene that Mrs. G has!

  7. Mrs. G sounds like a interesting lady. My daddy loved to talk. He could really bend your ear off. I found it difficult sometimes getting off the phone with him and now I just wish I had one more conversation with him. I liked the poem at the end. That's a pretty cool picture prompt, too. With team work, anyone or anything can get more done! :)

  8. I think the wall is also a fence since it has a gate, now I am wondering what a fence is defined as and a quick search says it is meant to confine a piece of ground. humm who knows. the poem is great, yikes on micro management , my husband had driven me nuts with that very thing for 40 years and it is worse with his dementia..

  9. I really love the bit about ‘…she is not in any way a minute(wo)man.’ Also, the photo and the poem... cat and dog fun!
