Words for Wednesday was begun by Delores and has become a moveable feast of word or picture or music prompts to encourage us to write stories, poems, or whatever strikes our fancy.
This month the words/prompts are supplied by lissa on her blog.
This week's prompts are:
1. heartbreak
2. cheeseburger
3. postcard
4. afterlife
5. beachcomb
Charlotte's colour of the month is Electric Rose.
It's been a long time since i had the chance to BEACHCOMB. When we used to go to the shore each year, it was how i spent a good portion of each day.
I wonder sometimes if the AFTERLIFE will have oceans and beaches to walk. I rather hope so.
It's somewhat of a HEARTBREAK we can't go on vacation any longer. I have a POSTCARD i bought while there with a picture of the place, i put it in an Electric Rose frame and it makes me both happy and sad to see it.
Funny, isn't it, how we can be happy it happened and sad it won't happen again. Kind of like how you feel after eating the best ever CHEESEBURGER (or whatever your great food of choice) and knowing you won't ever be able to eat that one in the same way, with the same people, and with the same joy you felt ever again. It was once, and it's over.
However, i choose not to be sad, but to know there are other adventures. I don't know where or when, but they will happen someday.

ReplyDeleteYour last paragraph about other Adventures someday. You have so many now as it is but they probably seem normal to you. The artwork especially the shooting star is very cute.
ReplyDeleteA good story I can identify with. We have had many cruises and made so many friends seeing the same Captain and officers very often. Because I am undergoing immunotherapy we had to cancel our cruise for May. We have a cruise the end of September for our wedding anniversary. I hope we can make it because I know it will very likely be our last one.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry to put a long comment about my ill health but felt I needed to write it. Your story struck a chord and I am happy for all the people we met but sad I will have to say goodbye to them.
When one chapter ends, another begins. It doesn't mean the other one will not be forgotten or missed but it is another piece of life. Life is like a book, full of chapters.
ReplyDeleteI often remember going to my grandparents' place, when all my aunts and uncles and cousins were there. Happy memories, but that time will never come again.
ReplyDeleteI like the creative pieces ''~ Your story about change is great '~ the one of few 'constants' in life ~ hugs,
ReplyDeleteThe little ones do nice artwork. So precious.
ReplyDeleteI miss your adventures too. I always went along to the shore each year with you. Always a good time.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Love and hugs, my friend. ♥
Java Bean: "Ayyy, how can there be heartbreak when there is also a cheeseburger? Estoy confundido."
ReplyDeleteSince we're grandparents, even great-grandparents I could just walk in the other room and tell my wife how special she is to the grandkids and greats. Think I'll go to the store and pick up some Peppermint Patties! Have a blessed week.
ReplyDeleteCute artwork!
ReplyDeleteM'ha semblat un text una mica trist...
ReplyDeletePetonets, Mimi.
thecontemplativecat here... I will enjoy the words. Should I post my Wed.Words here at your site?
ReplyDeleteI would post at lissa's blog, since she supplied the prompts and will for all of this month.
DeleteI'll bet the gang had fun making that pretty art. Good use of words too!
ReplyDeleteNice art. I am sorry you don't get to go on vacation anymore- you deserve a vacation more than anyone I can think of. XO
ReplyDeleteWe love those creative art pieces, and I enjoyed the way you used the prompts for your story.
ReplyDeleteIt's true that once you experience something, you can do it again but it will never be the same which is kind of a shame but that's how it is but it's good to have those memories to look back on. Good use of the prompts.
ReplyDeleteHave a lovely day.
Very nice artwork!
ReplyDeleteA thought provoking story indeed! Love that shooting star.
