Feline Friday: Brother From Another Mother

Two kittens, both from different litters, both alone.  It's never good for kittens to be raised alone, they were meant to be with other cats when they are very little.

So now, they are with each other.

The black one is a boy about 2 days old, the cream is a boy about 7 days old.  Dr. Penguin, one of our two adult fosters, is looking and sniffing with curiosity, as she always does.

  1. The picture reminds me of Chloe Jo & her brother, Moon. I bottlefed their litter of four, from Day 2 through 6 weeks. *sigh*

  4. McGuffy Ann, they really make a place in your heart when you raise them yourself, don't they?

Sandee, i wish you could have a lot of them, too. They are fun to have around (when they aren't barfing on things, of course!).

    Thanks, Kathe, you too!

  6. There aren't many who can do what you do ... I know only one other. It is hard to raise kittens without a mother ... will Dr. Penguin help you raise them, or are you on your own. Bless you for what you do ...

  8. That is so sweet. Being raised together will make a huge difference. I'm actually quite touched as the cream one reminds me of the litter this poor pregnant stray we took in yonks ago, had.

From seven she had 2 cream kittens and, sadly, one was deformed. We always tried to attach her to her mothers teat when feeding, but she died 10 days after birth. The others all went to good homes and the mum, whom we named 'Zoombo' (yes, the kids got to choose her new name!) got dressed and lived a long happy life with us!
