Silly Sunday and Gallivanting in Galveston: In Tandem

Silly Sunday is hosted by Sandee, of Comedy Plus.

Silly Sunday is the place to come for weekly laughs.  The rules are simple, just have fun.

This is a great opportunity to get to know other bloggers and have a laugh or two in the process.

Here is how it works: Laugh and Link Up!
  1. Post a joke.
  2. Link Up with the URL to your joke in the Linky Tools Widget.
  3. Read my joke.
  4. Leave a comment to tell me how much you enjoyed my joke.
  5. Try and visit a few others participating in Silly Sunday.
  6. Go to Sandee's site, linked above, and get the Silly Sunday code for your blog, too!

By Saturday morning the clouds were going and there was a beautiful sunrise at the beach.  This meant we could do outdoor stuff!

We had two outdoor activities planned, and both were too short, at least to me.  In the first, Grace, Little Ninja, Sunny and i went to the area of Galveston where you can rent a surrey built for four that you peddle like a bicycle and ride up and down the sea wall.  It took us a bit of time to get the hang of it, but once we did, we enjoyed it even more.

Then we stopped for lunch at The Spot, and FiveCat and Mr. Fiver joined us.  They had to leave after that to head back home so Mr. Fiver could go back to work.

Our late afternoon activity was The Artist Boat.  What's that?  You learn to kayak, and stop to watercolor paint out in a beautiful bayou.  It was definitely too short, Sunny and i had a great time learning to kayak together (all the kayaks were tandems).  The cub scouts and their leaders had a great time, too.

For the evening, i walked down to the beach where there was a bonfire and some music.

Talk of tandems and biking and such reminds me of a joke.

Boudreaux an' Thibodeaux had dem a problem one day when dey need to get to somewhere an' Boudreaux done had his truck in de shop.

Dey don't got no way to get dere but to borrow a tandem bicycle from Gautreaux up de road.  So dey get de bicycle an' dey get to ridin', an' after a while Boudreaux he complain dat de seat be too high.  So he stop an' say he goin' lower de seat, an' he do.

Den a bit later, Boudreaux he be complainin' his rear hurt, he want to lower de seat again, so he let some air out de tires.

Another mile down de road, Boudreaux be complainin' again and Thibodeaux tell him, "Stop de bike!"

Dey stop, an' Thibodeaux he turn his seat aroun' backward.

Boudreaux say, "What you be doin'?"

An' Thibodeaux say, "Mais, you complainin' so much, I be goin' home!"
