Silly Sunday: Have Them Dancing in the Aisles

Silly Sunday is hosted by Sandee, of Comedy Plus.

Silly Sunday is the place to come for weekly laughs.  The rules are simple, just have fun.

This is a great opportunity to get to know other bloggers and have a laugh or two in the process.

Here is how it works: Laugh and Link Up!

  1. Post a joke.
  2. Link Up with the URL to your joke in the Linky Tools Widget.
  3. Read my joke.
  4. Leave a comment to tell me how much you enjoyed my joke.
  5. Try and visit a few others participating in Silly Sunday.
  6. Go to Sandee's site, linked above, and get the Silly Sunday code for your blog, too!

"As King David danced before the Lord, there is a place for worshipful dance today in the practice of praising G-d," the book we were reading at Friday morning Bible study said.

At that point George, who can best be described as the class clown, asked, "So, how is that going to look in the sanctuary during a Sunday service?  And what kind of dance?  Two step?  Samba?"

Joan, who always plays off of George well, said, "Just let the Lord tell you what kind of dance, and hope He doesn't ask you to do the Macarena!"

All dis dance talk remind me o' de time Boudreaux, back before he done marry Clothile, done got him some new, ver' shiny, patent leather shoes, an' he go out dancin'.

Firs' he dance wit' Aileen.  As dey be dancin', he look down at de shoes an he whisper, "Aileen, be you wearin' de white culotte [panties]?"

An' Aileen she ax, "Boudreaux, how you be knowin' dat?" an he say, "Mais, I can see dem in my shiny, new shoes!"

Den he dance wit' Marie.  While dey be dancin', he look down again an' whisper, "Marie, be you wearin' de blue culotte?"

An' Marie she say, "Boudreaux, how you know dat?" an he say, "Mais, I can see dem in my shiny, new shoes!"

A bit after, he be dancin' wit' Yvonne.  Of a certain, he be goin' to look down, an' dis time he be a bit nervous as he ax, "Yvonne, you don' be wearin' no culotte, do you?"

An' Yvonne she giggle, an' she say, "No, Boudreaux, I don' be wearin' no culotte, but how you know?"

Boudreaux, he let him out a big sigh o' bein' relief, an' he say, "Oh, t'ank goodness, for a minute I t'ink dere be a crack in my shiny, new shoes!"

  5. Especially funny the way Boudreaux tells it.

I always heard stories how those shoes were not allowed in Catholic school dances for that very reason.
