Silly Sunday: Going Batty

Silly Sunday is hosted by Sandee, of Comedy Plus.

Silly Sunday is the place to come for weekly laughs.  The rules are simple, just have fun.

This is a great opportunity to get to know other bloggers and have a laugh or two in the process.

Here is how it works: Laugh and Link Up!
  1. Post a joke.
  2. Link Up with the URL to your joke in the Linky Tools Widget.
  3. Read my joke.
  4. Leave a comment to tell me how much you enjoyed my joke.
  5. Try and visit a few others participating in Silly Sunday.
  6. Go to Sandee's site, linked above, and get the Silly Sunday code for your blog, too!

There were two good things that came out of Red-headed Alec losing his wallet.   First, there was our faith in human nature restored when someone very kindly turned it in to the police.  (Although it did scare the crud out of his mother, who just got out of the hospital again, as he still has her address on his license, and the police showed up to say they had his wallet and she thought something horrible had happened to him.  She called and was most relieved when he answered his phone and told her he had simply lost it while out for a run.)

The second good thing was finding out that, for a small fee, you can go to one of several designated notary and auto title transfer places, one of which is just across the highway from us, and they can renew your license or give you a duplicate.  (In fact, if you lost yours in the recent floods, they were replacing them for a reduced cost, just show that your address was in the flood zone.)  This means no waiting for hours and hours at the DMV!

Boudreaux, he know him all 'bout dat waitin' at de DMV.  De las' time he done gots to go dere, he be 'bout t'ree hour jes' for to transact de bidness he have, an' dat put him late fo' his nex' errand.

He done had to run to de sports shop fo' to buy a gift fo' Tee Boudreaux to take to a birthday party.  De birthday boy done ax for sports equipment, an' Tee done say he want to give his frien' a baseball bat.

So Boudreaux done pull up in front de sports shop jes' a few minute befo' dey close, an' de whole time he be in dere he be mutterin' 'bout how long dey done took at de DMV jes' to renew his license, an' how he goin' be late home fo' supper.  De clerk ring him up fo' de bat, an ax, "Do you want me to wrap dat, or be you going straight back to de DMV wit' it?"

  1. Cool on the wallet and way cool on the license replacement. The DMV has a horrible reputation and they earned it.

I always love your jokes and this one made me laugh out loud.

Have a fabulous Silly Sunday. ☺
