On Task (Six Sentence Story) & Chain Link (Good Fences)

"My daughter reminded me about the use of musical codes, and I've been doing a bit of research," Jonathan told Buddy as they sat down to pore over the sheets of paper.

"Where is Stacy tonight, I haven't seen her in a long time," Buddy asked.

"She's at a cast party for her play, she'll be in later, and so will Alex, he has an evening class," Jonathan stifled a sigh.

"Good, and while they are here we need to make plans to get the families together again..." Buddy started, and Jonathan interrupted with laughter.

"Same ol' Buddy, after all these years, it's so hard to keep you on track about anything that doesn't involve actually playing an instrument!"

Buddy grinned and with the familiarity of years of friendship shot back, "Same ol' Jonathan, always so focused and on task!"

  4. I'm loving your ongoing story and I can't wait for them to crack the code.

They are called hurricane fences because they are still standing after a hurricane. Most of the wood fences can't say the same.

    Have a fabulous day. ☺

  8. I doubt those fences protect anything from hurricanes. Maybe they're called that because hurricane winds would blow through them?

  11. Another fun section of your story.
Hmmmm I don't think those fences would last through a Hurricane but they are nice and that lawn is so pretty and green.

  13. Mimi,

After last Wednesday things sorta went down hill for me in Blogosphere. I had a Thursday appointment then DH was off work on Friday and you know I'm no where to be found usually online on the weekends. lol Anywho, I'm playing catch up!

You created a nice dialogue between old friends sharing a glimpse into their characters - nicely done on SSS!

The photo fence prompt is a fascinating one but I keep forgetting about it, plus I don't often think about fences too much and I certainly do not have enough in archives to play along but I do like seeing what others share, though. Chain linked fences used to be very common but I don't see too many of them anymore. Most folks are using privacy fencing or tall shrubs to mark their property borders. Our next door neighbor has a chain link fence in his backyard.

"Hug a Crabby Stranger". I'll pass on that one. I won't even hug a happy stranger so you know I won't huge a crabby one. :D

The "National Cream-filled Doughnut Day" is one DH would totally like! I'm going to have to share that one with him. Of course, you may remember he LOVES doughnuts!

I had all but forgotten Mary Crosby. It's good seeing her mentioned and that she just celebrated her 58th birthday. She's the same age as DH. I always thought she was so pretty. I wonder if she ever recorded any mewsic? She should have some mewsical ability with two mewsical parents. Ole Bing was a fabulous singer! I love his Christmas albums the best!

Thanks for sharing all the mid-week fun, my friend!
