It's time once again for a Random and Happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Dr. D was in a huge dither yesterday. One of the attorneys for one of her cases had asked her to prepare a document for him, and she’d spent all day Sunday working on it, only to have her computer erase it before she could save it.
We spent almost two hours, but we got it reconstructed and sent, and i again realized that if you keep playing with the computer, you can figured out how to do just about anything you need to, even if you don’t quite know how.
She is also enjoying her new phone, now that she knows how to turn it on and open it.
Little Girl is preparing to move out again. It’s been wonderful having her at home since her previous lease ran out. She’s getting a bit antsy, though. Once you are out on your own, it’s not easy going back home.
Bigger Girl arrived safely in Amsterdam, and sent Grandma a text telling her so when i was at her house this Saturday. Let's see, i am paying extra for her to be able to call and text us from another country, and she sends her "I've arrived safely" messages to Grandma and not me? Guess i know where i am in the pecking order, and i am glad i have enough of a sense of humor not to mind a bit!
July is a long month, and long months make for being busy at the homeless ministry on the last Sunday. Everyone is out or almost out of food and money with two or three days left in the month. We usually have about 200 people, this weekend we had 300.
Because of some extra donations, we were able to give everyone a hot meal, a bag with sandwiches, cookies and a drink, and a box with the equivalent of three meals. All of the food is ready to eat, utensils included. It made my day to know everyone got plenty.
Speaking of food:
Sweetie wrenched his knee and was finally hurting badly enough to see a doctor. (Except for his eye and ear docs, he doesn't go unless he's desperate.) A cortisone shot has been administered, and i am hoping it works fast.
Have a great Tuesday, everyone!

ReplyDeleteI hope that the cortisone shot does the trick.
I hope your Sweetie is not hurting after the shot. I remember an incident when the power went off and whatever I had done was not saved in the computer. I shed tears of frustration because it was a big file. Hmmm...those were the days. Now I always remember to save the file every now and then.
ReplyDeleteSo, I'll make ice cream, have it with raspberry cake, and wander about calling people Ishmael.
ReplyDeleteIt's good to have a plan... ;-p
Mimi,
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I'd cope well having my kids move back home. I like my quiet, solitaire life for the most part. lol I learned years ago to make frequent saves to my document because the smallest of power spikes can glitch your system causing you to loss everything! I'm glad your daughter reached Amsterdam safely. At least, she let grandma know so you won't feel the need to send the National Guard out looking for her. lol That's pAwesome the food shelter was able to supply the extras with a good meal and extras. Ouch, sorry to hear about your hubs knee issue. I went to my ear doctor yesterday and he deemed it necessary that I have tubes placed in both ears. He may also use a balloon to stretch the Eustachian tubes. This isn't generally covered by insurance, so I asked if someone can tell me what the it'll cost because if we can swing it then it may help keep me from having to have tubes as often. I'll have to go the hospital for the procedure because my Eustachian tubes are so small. It's just day surgery (Aug. 16th) so I can home afterwards. August is going to be a busy, busy month for us! Have a randomtastic week!
I can remember my son moving in and out several times. When he left the last time I was very happy. There comes a time when they need to be on their own, but there are times when they are young that they need us as a safety net.
ReplyDeleteSorry hubby had his knee give him fits. He was getting over his back recently. If it's not one thing it's something else. I hope the shot works.
Have a fabulous and Happy Tuesday, my friend. ♥
Bless you for the charitable works. And I hope everyone is well (or getting better!). Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteLots of hugs to you and healing hugs to hubby ~

I did the same thing. I had nearly completed a large blog pictures and all and just before I completed it I lost the entire thing. I had to start all over again. What a pain in the a$$. Good luck to your Little Girl and as far a Bigger Girl, Grandmother's are will always be more important than mom's and my wife ( Grandma ) feels fantastic about that. LOL
ReplyDeleteSee ya Mimi.
Cruisin Paul
Glad you had enough food for all in need. I hope your Sweetie feels better soon.
ReplyDeleteIt's so wonderful that you were able to do so much for the homeless! My daughter, too, is antsy to get out on her own again. She's living here and working from home, and she would so rather have a place of her own. We just need to make sure her job is secure and she can budget well.
ReplyDeleteMy best to your sweetie and always to you. You are always helping others! Love ya!
ReplyDeleteAh the pleasures of technology ~ to stay in touch ~ loving post and family ~ you are blessed ^_^ and they blessed to have you ~
