It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.

If you tell your plans, the universe, or The Almighty, or someone will laugh at you.

Friday, #2 Son woke up with tonsillitis.  Now, remember that Grandpa had his tonsils out at age 24, i had mine out at age 24, and Bigger Girl just had hers out at age 26 (two years overdue).  #2 Son is 23, and i think his tonsils are rotting out right on our DNA's schedule, as this is his first bout ever.

He went to Doc-in-a-Box across the highway and got antibiotics.  All should be well right?

In anyone else's world, yes.  In my world, Saturday was my day off.  He woke up with his throat so swollen he was choking.  To the ER we go!

Turns out he had an abscess behind his right tonsil. They had to get an ENT in to drain it.  Yes, he was worth every minute in the ER, and he was worth missing the Holy Saturday church service for, and next time i think i might get a day off, i'm not going to whisper a word to anyone until it is over!

Next time, i'm keeping my trap shut!

Dr. D has not been feeling her best since taking antibiotics a couple of weeks ago, but that didn't stop her from getting some mileage out of the day yesterday.

Actually, the mileage was put on Lunceford the Land Yacht.

We started by listing what had to be done:  cleaning (litter box, toilet, tub, dishes, vacuuming, change sheets), put more coolant in her truck, and run errands.  Doesn't sound like a whole lot, does it?

Errand one, laundromat.  Start the wash, run to the nearby bank to get cash for the rest of the errands, go back and put it all in the dryer.  While there, run into one of your children's friends you haven't seen in over 10 years, and spend time being mommy counselor.

Back to the house where she won't let me make the bed until she irons the pillowcases (!) and get ready for the next set of errands.

Now it's time for MallMart, the Dollar Store, the post office, the grocery, and the drug store.  Drug store number one doesn't have an item, find it at grocery store.  Grocery store can't come up with a price on it, won't sell me the item.  None of the other stores have it either.  Come back with a roast chicken, cat treats, Renuzit solid air freshener, a broom, a door mat, two cartons of milk, and the mail.  Because of having to stop at four different places to find the item i never got, the whole thing takes over two hours.

Oh, we almost forgot the phone needs to have more minutes.  Finally convinced her to do that on the phone itself using a debit card.

Cleaning is getting done between all these things, and i figure i will just help with sorting stuff at the house after the second set of errands until i hear, "Oh, I need panty hose, and they have to come from Dillard's at the Mall!"

Go to the one place i almost never go, the Mall.  Find a parking place strangely close to Dillard's.  Walk in and find out there are two Dillard's in the mall, and i'm in the wrong one, the one with men's clothes.  Figure that's why there's no one parked near it.  Through the mall to the other Dillard's, procure the panty hose, and leave the Mall, hoping my next visit won't be for at least 4 months (that's about as often as i can stand).

It's all good, in the end everything got done, and she is finally feeling better if she asked for a chicken.

Some days, you just know you earned your good night's sleep.

Have a fabulous Tuesday, everyone!

  12. Amazing Mimi. I had tonsillitis when I was a young child and had them out. I remember having ice cream in my hospital room. I loved the one about a perspective. Wonderful. See ya Mimi.
