As usual, the answer to the above question is, beyond doubt, yes.
How did i get to be thankful this week, and going into next week? Let's do a little exploring, shall we?
This week and next week's thankful starts last Sunday, when Lunceford the Land Yacht started to make a squeak i didn't like. Monday was to be an all day at Dr. D's house, so Sweetie dropped me off and went to Kevin and Lenny's.
First thankful, it wasn't much. On a 20-year-old car, plastic pulley wheels do wear out, and the parts were going to be ready Tuesday morning.
Thankful two, while they had it in to replace that wheel and the tensioner arm, they noticed our alternator, under warranty, was about to go, so that got taken care of at the same time, no extra charge.
Next up, as noted before, i am glad Kevin and Lenny take payments, and i'm thankful we had a bit to give them for a first payment.
It was after Tuesday that the week really got complicated, and by that i mean more complicated than Sweetie having to drop me off and pick me up from work and get his own errands or appointments in. On Wednesday, as he dropped me one place while he went to the ear doctor (gratitude again, his ears are clear and we had enough money to pay of the last of Bigger Girl's surgery and pay on his balance), Brother-in-Law, The Mouth's 26-year-old truck died. We are thankful that when it lost power and he couldn't steer or brake he was on a deserted side street where he could just coast to a stop to try to coax it into restarting. It did, but died again pulling into his driveway, and thankfully he coasted to a stop before it could hit the house.
With his truck out of commission, Brother-in-Law now needed a ride to work. We are all thankful it worked well this Thursday, i was able to get him at 6:30am, get him to the library where he works, get back and pick Sweetie up and still have plenty of time to get ourselves to work.
That afternoon, our second job is close to where Brother-in-Law works, so we were thankful to just be able to head over, get him, and take him home rather quickly.
On Friday, i'm so thankful Sweetie managed, in spite of not enough sleep, to get me to Bible study at 6am, get Brother-in-Law, take him to work, come get me and the two of us clean two houses, then pick up Brother-in-Law again, drop him off, and get the cat shelter done.
This coming week, i am thankful that Mr. BA and Ms. GA will be out of town (Monday to Monday), so i will be going to their house twice a day to feed cats and water plants, and earn extra money.
This coming week, i am thankful that Dr. D will be out of town (Wednesday to Saturday), so i will be going to her house every day to feed cats and earn extra money.
This coming week, i am thankful we will be giving Brother-in-Law a ride to work every day until we can figure out if his truck's fuel filter is the cause of the engine shutting down, or if the truck is just truly dead.
And yes, i am thankful in advance that i will not have a nervous breakdown by the end of the week trying to juggle it all.
(If you think this gets complicated, how about next Saturday i list all the ways i am thankful about our medical situations!)
Please join us and our gracious and wonderful hostess Kristi from ThankfulMe, write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful.
