It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day! This week's image and my poem:
No, my name is not Rapunzel,
And please don't think that you
Are cracking wise and being smart
That old joke just makes me blue.
I grow my hair this way because
I love it, don't you see?
It's my very own sure-fire way
To express the inner me.

Brian of Brian's Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop. It's time to share something for which i am thankful.
My thankful is that our vet and a groomer have agreed to help us get Mikey shaved soon.
Mikey, next to my size seven foot. |
Mikey is almost 20 pounds of lazy, laid back cat, with only one exception. He used to let me brush him and trim at the knots in his fur. Now he just bites and scratches when i try, and he has got some whopper knots that are going to cause trouble if they don't get removed.
The vet has agreed he has to be anesthetized and shaved, so next Monday he has an appointment. Yes, photos will follow, you will see that he really is not just all floof.

ReplyDeleteLove your six sentence story. And shudder to think of the care and attention hair that long would need.
ReplyDeleteOh no! Not exactly the best way to begin a marriage!
ReplyDeleteYou are a poet and hopefully know it :D
Mikey is a tad on the large size but I bet he won't seem so intimidating after his shave, lol. Reminds me of one of my cats, Jamaal. A very large ball of black fluff. Give him a bath and not so big and scary. Mikey will appreciate your efforts :)
P.S. Dreads are not a good look on felines :D
I was so disappointed as a child when I discovered that frozen custard was nothing more than soft serve ice cream...
ReplyDeleteNot that soft serve is a bad thing - it's just not proper custard in an icy form. *sigh*
Our kitty Sophie is long haired and she also gets tangles and knots. The older she gets, the worse they get, but Mom still wrestles her and is able to pull them out. Poor Mikey, the soon to be shaved cat.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your summer cut handsome boy! Happy World Cat Day!
ReplyDeletelol
ReplyDeleteforewarned is forearmed?
(Cutting a cat's fur...now that must be an adventure!)
Aw, Mikey ~ love you! ~
ReplyDeleteFun 6 sentence story and neat fence photos! Great post!
Happy Day to You,
A ShutterBug Explores,
aka (A Creative Harbor)
You nailed the 6 sentence story, and the poem too. Purrs to Mikey, I'm sure he will feel lots better without those mats. Thanks for joining the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteSmart girl. No one wants to be Lady Edith, but at least she's prepared. Good six. Also, the hair picture...UGH! And a watermelon festival, let's go!
ReplyDeleteI loved this Six Sentence Story Mimi. You are funny. Thanks for a smile this morning my friend.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
Yes, cab fare just in case. Or Uber app? I can't imagine taking care of all that hair. Yikes. Poor kitty but I can't wait to see the shaved version.
ReplyDeleteI have never thought of keeping some money for cab fare. We have GrabCar or UberCar and can pay after reaching home.
ReplyDeleteAlways have cash for cab or Uber fare. You just never know.
ReplyDeletePoor Mikey. He'll be a bit miffed for a bit, but it will be better in no time.
Speaking of hair...yikes on that head of hair. I would hate that.
Have a fabulous Thankful Thursday, my friend. ♥
