Running Behind on a Random and Happy Tuesday, and Wednesday’s Words

***********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus

Ladies and gentlemen, i am once again having to beg your indulgence as i try to catch up on my blog reading.   My vacation was fabulous yet it did not afford me quite so much time for reading as i anticipated, and then there was yesterday.

Dr. D was out of town.

It did not help.

When she leaves town to have her procedure on her hips/back (it is some kind of pain block that has to be done every few months), i am to go over as usual on Monday, feed and clean up after the cats, do some other cleaning, then come back on Tuesday and Wednesday to cat-tend.

This time, i was also to change the bedsheets.  The first problem was finding the second set of sheets.  Once found, the second problem was that they were not clean.  By the time i got done with my impromptu trip to the laundromat, then went to Ms. JAI and did the cleaning and helped unstop a drain that had clogged because of back up from the air conditioner drain the guys were there fixing, well, let’s say i am still so far behind that if i am required to accomplish a certain amount before i go, then i will never die.

Let’s just hope the rest of the week doesn’t go on like this.

Anyone want to see some of the crazy things Grandma sent?

Revenge can be sweet!

Golf for beginners.

How men ruin romance.

Hope everyone has a blessed and beautiful Tuesday!

This month, i am providing the prompts for Words for Wednesday.  As is my custom, i post the prompts on what is Tuesday for me to accommodate those in other time zones.

You can write your story on your blog and leave a link here, or write your story in the comments, your choice.

Please remember that the prompts are just there to get your creative juices flowing, you can use some, all, or none of them.  The whole point is to write and enjoy the process.

This week the prompts are:

thanks
incapable
suffering
memorial
aunt
front

and/or

effect
admission
past

  1. Love the funnies. Golfing for beginners, ha ha.
I know another who doesn't have clean sheets for her bed, she's learnt that sheets must be changed, so she does that, but skips the washing part because she has a water phobia and also doesn't understand the washing machine. I think (hope) she has carers or friends now who help her with that.

If there was a clean sheets fairy I would have clean sheets every day - and thank you for being that hard working fairy.
Also many thanks for the W4W prompts.

  4. LOL! Good funnies today. We were only gone for 3 days and Mom had so much work to catch up on but like you, a simple task took all day because other stuff kept popping up. Vacation is worth it all, though.

  15. Thanks for the smiles...and your post, messymimi...here's my attempt at this week's words...

"As far back as anyone in the family could remember...and it was an honest admission, without malice...their aunt was incapable of giving thanks, even during the Anzac Day memorial services they attended every year as a family group, honouring the suffering and sacrifices made by our members of the Defence Force on the Western Front, at Gallipoli, as well as other battlefields during past wars.

The room fell quiet as the family felt the full effect their aunt’s smiling comments when the youngest child handed her a small bouquet of daisies. It was a jaw-dropping moment.

However, the elderly woman’s unexpected, uncharacteristic reaction did enhance the joyful mood of the morning even further."

    1. What an interesting take on the prompts. Thank you is such a powerful sentiment - and phrase. I hope that she continues to remember it.

    2. Perhaps, like the Christmas Bells of the story, she reacts only to that which is given in purity and without expectation of return.

  17. Sorry, lost track of the dragon and the witch for a couple of days, I hope to have an update soon.

Loved the funnies, also, I get my cleaner to put clean sheets on but I do make sure they are clean LOL. The PSWs (personal service workers) are absolutely lousy at straightening beds, but better than I would be these days.

  18. It was only after they had been traveling for a while that Alcalador really looked at Eleuthera and realized just how attractive she was. It was possible the effect of regular proximity had the ability to enhance her appeal, but Alcalador had to accept the admission, if only to himself, that he was suffering from her attraction. Dragons are, after all, incapable of lying to themselves and no thanks to such honesty he was beginning to be very much aware of her. He remembered an aunt from his past taking him into a separate “room” off her personal cave and lecturing him about this. It was a memorial to her that the thought was now front and centre to his thinking. However, for the moment he decided to set his jaw against such distractions and carry on with their mission. One thing which had been on his mind, “Where was the witch’s broomstick”. He decided to ask her then and there and did so. She told him that, unfortunately, the last one had been in an accident and she was awaiting delivery of a new one which should arrive any day. Just then there was a swoosh in the air and lo and behold she was holding a brand new broom. Talk about coincidence.

    1. There are times to admit attraction, and times to work, and times to wonder if a spell is being cast on purpose. Let's hope he takes care of business first.

    2. I always enjoy your Alcalador stories. Lucky Eleuthera. I am wondering whether she too is feeling the attraction and hope that future prompts reveal more.
