Excellent, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

***********************************

This week has been excellent, and i am very thankful for Thankful Day.

Brother-in-Law, at long last, went and got himself a mobile phone.  Since his living arrangements will no longer include having access to a landline, his situation got to where no one could get in touch with him, so he finally gave in.

An addendum thankful is that he is learning how to use it, and remembering to keep it with him often enough that it makes a difference.

(Of course, sometimes he won't bother to answer, but you can't have everything.)

He is still working out other living arrangements, that's a work in progress, but we are thankful it is progressing.

He has also finally been allowed to go back to work, no more having to hope the library is open and that they have a computer available for him to use.

Sweetie had extra work this week, too.  The Big Boss had him come out to the farm, and he moved a deer stand almost singlehandedly.  Proving, once again, that at age almost 67, you still don't want to run into him in a dark alley.

All 3 of the children who still live in town managed to come by for a visit at some point during the week.  It's always a joy to see them.

Ms. S's house that she's trying to sell is now "pending" as they say.  The inspector came today, and so far, it looks like the buyer isn't backing out.

Ms. GA asked me at prayer meeting this morning, with some trepidation, if i had plans for Labor Day Weekend.  Besides work, of course, i have none.  She and Mr. BA will be going out of town, so she wants me to tend the cats.  Last time she asked was for the day we were leaving on vacation, so she was quite relieved and thankful to know we already took our one vacation a year and have no plans for another.  And of course i am thankful for the extra work/extra pay.

Even though i worked weeding in the yard at Mr. BA's yesterday, i did not pass out from the sun and heat, and i am very thankful.  Also, i freed several beautiful lily plants from choking vines and grasses and weeds, and i am thankful they can now bloom and actually be seen and enjoyed.  (That i managed to mostly avoid the "wandering Jew" plants, and so didn't break out, is a bonus.)

Yesterday evening at the cat shelter was almost as busy as last Friday.  Once again, the door was more of a turnstile and we had several adoptions yesterday and several cats picked up by their adopters after surgery.

Also, i was able to unstop a sink drain.  Score one for the janitor, who is not afraid to put her hands in where things are not exactly pleasant.

Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Kristi and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.

  8. Your TToT post was like a TToT School for me. I had to google to see what a deer tree was and to read about the perils of the Wondering Jew plant.
I like the idea that there is a "Be and Angel Day." As many things as you do for people, I suspect you are often thought of as an angel.
