Found Horizon (Six Sentence Story), Christmas Good Fences, Santa's Magic (Sammy's Poetry Day), and Brian's Thankful Thursday

 ***********************************

His girlfriend at the time picked the cat up off the street and brought it home, where her grandmother told her to find another home for it, they already had too many.

It was skittish, afraid of its own shadow, and already about 3 months old -- not a good fit for the shelter to try to find him a home, as he was already considered feral.

She came up with what she knew was a foolproof plan because his parents were soft hearted (and soft-headed, but that's another story).  She gave the cat to him as his fifteenth birthday gift, knowing his parents wouldn't say no if the animal was a gift.

We didn't say no, of course, when #1 Son's first girlfriend gave him a cat for his birthday; that was 14 1/2 years ago.

That's how Horizon, who is still scared of his own shadow, became a member of the family.

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Horizon.

Gosia at Looking for Identity has taken over Good Fences, and it's now Good Fences Around The World.  Post a picture of a fence or gate, link back to her blog, and go visit other blogs to see what interesting fences there are out in this big world.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day This week's image and my poem:

Ho, ho, ho, and well, well,

What have we here?

Two children waiting

For Christmas cheer!

They snuck out of bed,

As I knew they would,

Trying to see me,

As if they could!

Santa always knows

When you fall asleep,

And just how do I do it?

That's a secret I keep.
