It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
A while back, i got the idea from some life-hack site to fill my water bottles that i reuse only halfway, then freeze them on their sides so they are half full of ice. You fill it the rest of the way when you want cold water to drink, and it works pretty well.
Until Sweetie rearranges the bottles for you, and puts them with the top pointed down. The all of the water freezes at the top, and you have to wait for them to half melt before you can use them.

He was trying to be helpful, of course.
Yesterday, Carl had the day off work because he had a doctor's appointment in the afternoon. That meant he went to sleep in the living room while i cleaned his room.
He is up to his usual tricks of not putting lids on things, but this week he did one better. He lost the lid before he even got the Pepto out of the box!
After a while, he got up and showered, ate breakfast, and brushed his teeth. He left the sink i'd just cleaned rather messy, and i suggested to him that he might want to rinse the sink and put his toothpaste away.
He did so, and i noted that if he tidied up after himself, he wouldn't have to pay me as much each week.
His response? "But you need the money!"
Yep, he will continue to be messy so i can earn the money. He's a hoot.
Grandma has sent some pictures, but some text, too. First she sent some signs you might be getting older:

ReplyDeleteLove the stoplight idea! Mom says we could all learn a lot from what the Japanese are teaching. No one seems to know about manners, character, or respect here anymore, sadly. Great idea with the water bottles, but we can see someone being helpful foiling the whole thing!

ReplyDeleteI'm going to try that water bottle hack. And I think Japan has the right idea. That toilet is rather awkward but I dig those stop lights. Those would definitely work.
ReplyDeleteI used to do that with water bottles when I'd go to the pool or beach in the summer, although admittedly it does not work if you stack them upside down (and thanks for the laugh).
