It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
A while back, i got the idea from some life-hack site to fill my water bottles that i reuse only halfway, then freeze them on their sides so they are half full of ice. You fill it the rest of the way when you want cold water to drink, and it works pretty well.
Until Sweetie rearranges the bottles for you, and puts them with the top pointed down. The all of the water freezes at the top, and you have to wait for them to half melt before you can use them.
The only reason i buy the occasional SmartWater bottle is because they are sturdy, and cheaper than the metal ones that keep getting lost. You can see ice blocking the top. |
He was trying to be helpful, of course.
Yesterday, Carl had the day off work because he had a doctor's appointment in the afternoon. That meant he went to sleep in the living room while i cleaned his room.
He is up to his usual tricks of not putting lids on things, but this week he did one better. He lost the lid before he even got the Pepto out of the box!
After a while, he got up and showered, ate breakfast, and brushed his teeth. He left the sink i'd just cleaned rather messy, and i suggested to him that he might want to rinse the sink and put his toothpaste away.
He did so, and i noted that if he tidied up after himself, he wouldn't have to pay me as much each week.
His response? "But you need the money!"
Yep, he will continue to be messy so i can earn the money. He's a hoot.
Grandma has sent some pictures, but some text, too. First she sent some signs you might be getting older:
Your children become you, but your grandchildren are perfect!
Going out is good, but coming home is better!
You miss the days when everything worked with one "On/Off" switch.
You use a lot more four-letter words, like "what?" and "when?”
File these first two under “Great Ideas”:
Clean water comes in at the top, wash up and reuse that water to flush next time! |
Traffic lights in Ukraine -- don't tell me you didn't know it was red! |

Smat trick with the water bottle - if not for helpful hubby :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the lists, all those people that was born today always make me wonder what they were/are known for, as I seldom know more than a few. If I have time, i look up some of them and get wiser.
Today only Maria Augusta von Trapp saves me from not knowing any of them ;) Missing education much!
Great idea those traffic lights.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Love that practical loo. And the water bottle idea is brilliant (when helpful people don't mess it up for you.
ReplyDeleteLove the stoplight idea! Mom says we could all learn a lot from what the Japanese are teaching. No one seems to know about manners, character, or respect here anymore, sadly. Great idea with the water bottles, but we can see someone being helpful foiling the whole thing!
ReplyDeleteGood idea with the water bottle. Your Sweetie is trying to be helpful. Lol! So nice of Carl to keep you working because you need the money.
ReplyDeleteA definite LOL POST ~ ^_^ ~ Like the water bottle concept too.

Mimi, I enjoyed your blog this morning but the last picture , " well that sucks " broke me up. That must have been for a happy and funny person. Have a wonderful day my friend.
ReplyDeleteCruisin Paul
Hubby did try to help. Bless his heart. That works very well and many do it here. It gets really hot here in the summer.
ReplyDeleteCarl is a hoot for sure. He's making sure you have money.
Love all the funnies. I love the did you know ones the best.
Thank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Big hug. ♥
Yes I love my dogs more that I love lots of people. How would I be surviving this pandemic without them?
ReplyDeleteThat water bottle hack almost worked. Hey, love the Japanese schools and love those headstones!
ReplyDeleteBwa! Haa!! Haaa!!! I laughed so hard coffee came out my nose! The pets love it when that happens! Have a marvellously Happy Day!
ReplyDeleteGreat post- your honey helping you was hilarious, smart toilet design, Carl has your best interests at heart, and the funnies and those epitaphs were a hoot! Have a lovely day!
ReplyDeleteI'm going to try that water bottle hack. And I think Japan has the right idea. That toilet is rather awkward but I dig those stop lights. Those would definitely work.
ReplyDeleteI used to do that with water bottles when I'd go to the pool or beach in the summer, although admittedly it does not work if you stack them upside down (and thanks for the laugh).
ReplyDeleteI knew that humans had more empathy for dogs than other people, we've been proving that for the past year.
Carl provides you with more material than the Dr. did. :)
ReplyDeleteThree years learning good manners and developing good character and they still beat out most of the world in all the subjects. I could wish more schools taught good manners, but I could also wish more parents taught good manners.
