More Than Filling a Hole (Six Sentence Story), Mardi Gras Good Fences, Too Famous (Sammy's Poetry Day), and Brian's Thankful Thursday

Home from work at last, she was tempted to sit and take a load off her feet.  She knew, though, that would mean she wouldn't get up for quite a while, and her tummy was rumbling.

Pulling out salad fixings and a few odds and ends to warm up in the toaster oven, she resisted the urge to start nibbling before the meal was assembled.  A nibble here, a bite there, and soon she'd be tempted to stand at the sink and plow through the whole meal like Cookie Monster on a shortbread bender.

Instead she assembled everything, got it on a plate or in a bowl, and sat down at the table with utensils, stopping to give thanks for it all.

Eating this way did more than fill her stomach, it filled her spirit.
