It's That Bad (Cajun Joke) and Sunday Selections

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

Yesterday started with a storm just after midnight and got really exciting when the electricity went out around 4am.

The generator kicked in, and the electric company informed us, about an hour and a half later, that our electricity was back on.

No, it wasn't.  It took me calling again to report it, and i informed the neighbors who also called and reported that they were still out.

The whole thing was surreal, so instead of having Sweetie come with me to NOLA to clean, i told Grandpa i would be late, waiting until well after sunrise to head down, and that Sweetie would stay and babysit the house.  After all, if i'm away and i get a text saying the electric is back on, and no one is home and it is not, i don't have any way to know and report that.

De electric jes' come back on an' Thibodeaux done come over to see if'n Boudreaux an' dem done made out okay in de storm.

He fin' Boudreaux settin' on de porch an' shakin' hims head, an' when Boudreaux done seen Thibodeaux he say, "Thibodeaux, I done be so glad to see you!"

"What be de matter, Boudreaux?" Thibodeaux ax.

"De electric be out!  Fo' two hour dere be no TV, no radio, no computer, no nothin'."

"What be so bad 'bout dat?"

An' Boudreaux say, "Mais!  I done had to talk to Clothile de whole time!"
