Still Thankful in May, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

Is it really Thankful Day again?  Yes, and now that A to Z is done, i don't have to use a particular letter, so i will be thankful if i get a whole list together without that prompting.

Also, i am thankful i got through another A to Z, it was fun as always.

Wednesday i got home a bit earlier than usual and got to sit with my feet up and do puzzles, that's a treat.

Because Ms. JAI has agreed she only needs me once a month, and that Tuesday is as good as any other day, i will be able to go see Ms. PA and Mr. Jack every Monday now, and i'm thankful as she is 92 and doesn't need to be changing sheets and scrubbing her bathtub herself.

Two people we've told to call Mr. Mike, The Generator Guy, have agreed to buy their generators from him.  He gives a referral reward for each person we send his way, so our last bill with him is paid off.  Talk about thankful, that's the easy way to pay the bill.

It was time for GusGus, Die Fledermaus (yes, i name my car, i'm sentimental that way) to get an oil change.  Off to Kevin and Lenny, whom i hadn't seen for a few weeks.  All is well there, and as usual they fixed me right up with an oil change, rotating the tires, and a discount.  They are great people, i am very thankful for them.

Friday morning Bible study was especially good, for lots of reasons.

Last night at the shelter was most eventful.

New volunteers showed up, and we're always thankful for extra hands.

The family that adopted Zelda came to pick her up now that's had her spay surgery, and we're always thankful for going home day for every cat and kitten.

Crowning the night, a couple walked in and right off said, "We are here to adopt Jupiter and Buster."

Buster is the current longest shelter resident, and has FIV although he is healthy for now.  Jupiter has been there a while, too, has an immune disorder that will require daily medication for the rest of his life (he's not quite a year old), and he and Buster have been rooming together and have become best friends.

That someone would walk in and tell us they want both of our special needs cats is astounding.  When you do rescue work, you live for the happy endings.
