This week has been full, so it's time to be Thankful.
Last Saturday was Red-headed Alec's mom's funeral. It was a fitting tribute and i am thankful i was able to go.
About two weeks ago, i noticed Little Girlie was acting strangely, and figured out she had a urinary tract infection. Since she was 16 and crotchety and always hated going to the vet, i am thankful i was able to get my vet to give me the antibiotics without having to take her in.
The first few days went well, she was feeling better, and then she suddenly went downhill fast. Always thin, she had no reserve, and when it got to the point where it would be cruel to keep trying to treat her, we let our vet help her to the other side.
We're thankful we had her as long as we did and that her end was peaceful.
#2 Son came to visit, and he told us he thought Dansig wasn't acting like himself. We took Dansig in and we're thankful #2 Son spoke up. Dansig is diabetic, and i'm glad i am not squeamish about giving insulin shots. In addition, Dansig doesn't object or get mad or fight it, and i'm thankful about that, too.
It had been a while since Ms. JAI called me, and i was starting to be concerned. She finally contacted me, she'd been out of town for over a month. We were thankful to reconnect and i was thankful for my arsenal of tools for cleaning toilets. After a month, they all had a ring that fought back!
Thursday at Ms. SE's house i got a break i don't get often. Her mother was in town and helped me fold the clothes. If my back is going to object to anything, it's moving furniture and folding clothes, so i'm always thankful for help with either.
We got to the laundromat this week, always a thankful thing although i don't always mention it. This week it had gotten almost critical.
Sweet William, Ms. GA's newest rescue, is doing well. He cooperated with getting into the carrier to go get his staples out, and he's free from being confined to the bathroom although he still shouldn't do too much that's strenuous. We're all thankful for him, he's a love.
The big news is that Brother-in-Law's taxes are done, and i'm always thankful to get that out of the way. From the moment he is given his W2 at work, he starts fretting about it. It took less than an hour this time and he's getting a nice refund, so he's thankful, too.
Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Dyanne and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.

Thank you for helping Little Girlie to the other side. It's such a hard thing to do but it's the final loving thing we can do for our furry ones. I know you will miss her but she had a good life with you.
ReplyDeleteYour thankful lists are always a very good reminder to me to be more grateful for the good things in my life, Mimi. That's one thing *I* am thankful for!
Bubble gum sculpture? It would have a long life.
ReplyDeleteSo sad to learn about Little Girlie, messymimi....the sweet, beautiful little girl. So very sad...I'm sorry. Our pets are so precious and so important to us.
ReplyDeleteTake good care. :)
I am so sorry about Little Girlie. I am glad Dansig is good about insulin. Nice thankfuls, as always. XO
ReplyDeleteSurely the most difficult responsibility we accept when an animal joins our herd/pack/school...
ReplyDeleteWhat the heck with the human body?!?! Ok I can see moving furniture being provocation to a back, heavy weights, unforgiving laws of physics but to allow (smaller) muscles to raise Cain... just don't seem fair.
Have the best possible week.
I'm glad you have so many thankfuls each week.
ReplyDeleteWe know LittleGirlie will sure be missed. That was a good list though and we're glad to hear that Sweet William is doing good.
ReplyDeleteOh I am sorry you lost Little Girlie but I understand. So many times in life the hard stuff gets in our way. HUGS across the miles to you and many blessings too. You have the very best thankfuls.
ReplyDeleteSo sorry that Little Girlie had to move on. She lived a long life, but she will still be missed, I know.
ReplyDeleteHaving help with folding clothes is always a blessing when one's back is acting up. What a nice relief for you.
Wishing you a nice week ahead.
