Good Week, a Ten Things of Thankful Post

It’s a thankful thing to get to Thankful Day.  Every week is a bit different, and every week has thankful things galore.

Twice this week i’ve been thankful i checked the traffic before i set out for my destination, as i managed to avoid stopped traffic due to accidents.

We’re all thankful that days are getting longer, especially Tripod SissyCat.  She  has been able to go out each afternoon after the temperatures go up enough.

Though it is getting warmer in the afternoons, i am very thankful it’s not air conditioner weather quite yet (and i hope it stays that way for a bit longer).

Ms. D, the lady four houses down who has me come every other Tuesday now, has been needing some things done that require someone tall.  Enter Sweetie, who was tall enough to change the light bulbs without a ladder and who helped me get a blind hung in the guest bedroom window that she’s been wanting up for almost a year.  We were both very thankful for his help.

It’s not often that i am thankful one of the cats thinks it is being clever and gets itself trapped in a room, but that happened this week.  Dansig needed to go back to the vet again for his insulin regulation, so he is supposed to be fasting the night before.  Sweetie accidentally left the food down, but Dansig had snuck behind Sweetie when he went into the hall bathroom and got himself trapped in there.  There wasn’t anything in there for him to eat, so he went to the vet on schedule, thankfully.

Also thankfully he doesn’t have to go back, we’ve got  him on what we hope is a good maintenance dose.

While picking him up from the vet, i was thankful to be able to meet up with Little Girl and her boyfriend, they were bringing Coda for her checkup and Bart for his first puppy visit.  He’s a sweet snuggler.

Ms. G put me through my paces on Wednesday, and i’m thankful as it was a good workout.  We went to a bulk store and by the time the cart was loaded with the on sale cat litter, diet soda, bottled water, and bird seed, well let’s just say i’m thankful i can still push a 350+ pound flat cart through the bulk club.  Not to mention unloading it all when we got it back to her house.

Sweetie had a special thankful Thursday, although it was a frustrating moment.  We had plenty of money in the account, but his debit card was declined at the store.  He pulled out The Big Boss’ credit card that he keeps for when The Big Boss calls and needs him to get stuff, and so his trip to the store was not wasted.  As soon as he got home, he called The Big Boss, told him what happened, and made arrangements to bring him cash the next morning.  He’s thankful The Big Boss lets him keep that card, and understands when something weird like this comes up.

We’re both thankful that checking with the bank the next day revealed they had no record of the transaction even trying to go through, so the decline was a simple computer glitch, not something wrong with our account.

Our Friday morning prayer and Bible study group wrote Valentine cards to women in our church who are recent widows, we were thankful to be able to do a little something to make them feel special on a day that often means so much.

All in all, we’re thankful for a good week.
