Let's see, where are we? Ah, Thankful Day, of course!
There is a great deal to mention, starting with #1 Son. Sweetie was able to pick him up on time in spite of the horrible Memorial Day Weekend traffic, got him to the surgical center on time (it's in the same place as Sweetie's ENT, so he knew a back road), the surgery went well, and #1 Son is at home recovering. Yet to be heard, and i'll discuss it with #1 Son later when i bring his groceries, is how much of the meniscus they had to take and whether he'll need PT.
Last weekend's catsitting assignment went well, even with the two extra cats Granddaughter B brought over to their house. It rained Saturday and i was so thankful because then i only had to water the porch plants, and they were back on Sunday before evening watering time so i didn't even have to go over there.
Ms. JAI had called for me to come for my once-a-month visit and if you read my Tuesday post, you know why i am very thankful i can still climb under furniture.
Tuesday was laundry day, and i'm thankful we got it done, but that was all i really got done as i was feeling like i'd been hit by a truck. My blood pressure is still not exactly where it should be, as the doc has me on a different med schedule and if i was going to crash and burn Tuesday was a good day as i didn't have work, just clothes to do at my own pace.
That afternoon i met up with #2 Son and we got him the iPhone his boss has been telling him to get so he can be included in special group chats where Android won't play nicely. Thankfully, he's paying for it!
Although i still wasn't 100% on Wednesday, i went to Ms. G's. She greeted me with, "I have two broken bones in my foot, my back is not good and my neck is not good. Let's go to Costco!"
90 pounds of bird seed, 70 pounds of cat food and plenty of cases of soft drinks in the carts, in the car, and hauled into the house, plus i hauled the old, moldy bird seed out of the storage bin and into the garbage can for pick-up, got the very heavy garbage out for pick-up, and reloaded the storage bin with birdseed and the second fridge with drinks. Then i was time to clean.
Thankfully, i was still standing by the end of it.
Thursday at Ms. V's house was almost a vacation with nothing but cleaning to do, and i was thankful to get to the Mall-Mart for some things i needed.
Grandpa had asked me to please come on Friday this week to stay with Grandma so he could go out to dinner with a friend, something he hasn't been able to do since she got hurt. Thankfully, Ms. GA's house is a morning only assignment and i was able to drive down, like Sweetie, in spite of the heavy traffic.
The only interruption to the morning was a panicked called from Brother-in-Law. He was seeing flashing lights, which can mean a retina problem. Considering he and Sweetie have very fragile eyesight, this was nothing to sneeze at and he simply drove over to the eye doctor without an appointment and told them it was an emergency.
The doc checked him out and he's fine. The doc also told him he did the right thing, in the case of eyes that have had the kind of damage he and Sweetie had, anything that makes them nervous about their vision needs to be checked right away.
We're just glad it was a false alarm, especially as the day was already going to be packed.
It was like walking to a furnace. Both Grandma and Grandpa get cold easily, so they hadn't noticed the A/C wasn't cooling.
("But it's running! I can feel the air and it feels cool to me!" Grandma kept saying, not understanding that any moving air is going to feel cooler as it flows past your skin, that doesn't mean the air is actually being chilled.)
Thankfully the A/C company sent someone, they fixed the leak in the compressor and recharged the freon and here we sit in comfort. The house is mostly clean, too, so not as much to do tomorrow.
Please write up your own list and link up to Ten Things of Thankful, where Dyanne and her co-hosts always have a warm welcome waiting.
