Fluid (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Sammy's Poetry Day, and Brian's Thankful Thursday

"I'm retaining fluid like the Hoover Dam!" she waddled in, scratching her expanding belly and trying to look over it at her ankles, which were distinctly puffy.

"Anything I can do for you?" he asked, preparing to either get up and run to the store for something, or listen to a litany of pregnancy complaints.

"Only if you can convince this child to get off my bladder," she said with a sigh as she flopped on the couch, kicked off her hated "pregnancy support shoes" and put her swollen feet up on the ottoman.

"Would you like some of that mango sorbet, I saved you the last serving," he said, knowing it was her favorite.

As she started to shake her head and remind him about the doctor's warning on her blood sugar levels, he interrupted with, "Wait, I know, how about you swing those beautiful feet over here and I'll rub them, see if we can get them feeling better."

"That's the best idea I've heard all day," she said, settling in and putting her feet in his lap with a smile.
