Musical Cars, Anyone?

No, you will not hit the MADEIRA, even though the situation with the cars is again INSANE.

You will not tear at the WALLPAPER, nor will you be stranded in the WILDERNESS, literally or figuratively, by this latest episode of the saga.  #1 Son was not so stranded either, thank heaven.

This THREAD of the tapestry of stories that is your life is not off track, sailing into the ATLANTIC and getting away from you.  Or more aptly put, it is not getting away from G-d, for Whom this was not a surprise.

A FIREBIRD will rise from the ashes of this difficulty, and you may expect to be delightfully surprised when what seems a mighty oak in your path becomes, looking back, but a TWIG.

These problems are EARTHY and earthly, thick like CORN pudding, but they will not overcome us.

Before anyone decides to call the men with the butterfly nets, i will explain.

Last week, #1 Son's car needed work.  The work was done, the part was faulty, the car almost caught fire being brought back for repairs.

His car is still in the shop awaiting a new part, as they do not trust the previous supplier.  He is using Sweetie's car, Lunceford the Land Yacht, until his is repaired, which leaves us using my car.

In order for him to go to NOLA to see Grandma and Grandpa, he took my car, GusGus die Fledermaus and temporarily left us with Lunceford.  His trip down was uneventful.

His trip home started with a SONOROUS noise and a realization that the car was in dire straits, so he limped back to their home.

We had to PASTE together a plan.  He drove Grandma's car back up here, i am permitted limited use of it by the insurance company, i must being going to work or going to their home only.  #1 Son will retain Lunceford for his use, as he also has work obligations this week, and Sweetie can get rides from Brother-in-Law.

My car was towed to the dealer from whence it was bought.  They think it was the transmission.  If it is still under the 10-year powertrain warranty, it will be repaired.  If not, we will have to weigh our options.

Meanwhile, once again, this infernal dependence upon autos that is our current cultural model has bitten us in the you-know-what.
