It's a Secret (Cajun Joke) and Sunday Selections

Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.

Yesterday when Grandpa was getting Grandma's lunch, i asked what she wanted and he said, "Shhh!  It's a secret!"  As i grinned at him, he said, "I'm giving her some of Uncle J's meatloaf he made, she loves it, but he won't let anyone else have any!"

This means i need to get Uncle J's meatloaf recipe so either of us can make it for Grandma.

Thibodeaux done call Boudreaux wit' de news, "Gaston done invite all us to hims place tomorrow, he goin' grill some steaks!"

An' Boudreaux say, "I be's sorry, I cain't go me tomorrow, I gots me som'pin I gots to do."

After he done hung up, Clothile say, "You mean you ain't goin' to Gaston fo' steak?  You done tell me he grill de bes' steak on de bayou!  What you gots to do dat be so impo'tant?"

An' Boudreaux done hung hims head a bit sheepish an' say, "Hims steaks taste de bes', but I allus done wonder what he use fo' de special seasonin', an' he never done tole us.  So de las' time, I done snuck out to peek from de bushes to see what he gone do.  

"He gots him de pit, an' de coals be lit, an dere be all de meat on de grill, so much it almos' done smother de coals.  He come out de kitchen, douse de whole t'ing wit' de lighter fluid an' whoosh! it done go up in flame, he shut de top and walk back in de house.

"Dat be when I decide I don' be goin' eat dem steaks no mo', hims 'special seasonin' be de lighter fluid!"

(Yes, based on a true story!)
