It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
Part of today’s post is also a writing challenge. This is how it works: one of the contributing bloggers picked a number between 12 and 50. The submitted number is a challenge to participating bloggers to write at least one piece using that exact number of words.
This month, the word count number is: 43
It was submitted by: Diane at On the Border

This week, Ms. JAI called and wanted me to come after i was done at Carl's so i had to hit the ground running. That meant being at work before 6am and he was just getting out of the shower when i arrived.
Turning my attention to the laundry room, i saw the bridal veil on the dryer and the clothes pile up. Opening the dryer revealed 3 dry items, and the washer had the rest of that load still in there, not yet soured thankfully.
If you are Carl, you don't waste time drying what you don't need right now. If you are Carl, you don't separate the gloves before washing, necessitating rewashing. If you are Carl, dryer balls go through the cycle, laundry basket, wash, dry, repeat.
Why the bridal veil on the dryer? Ms. V and Mr. L are celebrating their 50th Anniversary in two weeks, they even invited us to the party. They're going through slides to make a presentation. The veil will play a part, i'm sure.
Meanwhile, i tried to get an apron on Carl to keep his clothes clean. It ended up everywhere except on him, and he even had a second one he'd grabbed. It was in his lap and fell on the floor when he stood.
Top of the fridge. |
This week's points to remember are, first, if the underwear was hung up still in the shorts, it's a pretty sure bet they are dirty, and indeed they were. Second, his calendar does him no good from on the top of his refrigerator.
Another thing i need to remember for myself is to put a glove on before i go in the house. There will be sticky doorknobs somewhere, and you never know where the jelly, syrup, or sugar used regularly will land. You've been warned.
Carl asked me if his snack was ready, and i asked if he wanted the unopened pre-made chef salad that was in the fridge. After some serious thought, he said, "It's a 15 today." Then he wandered off before i could ask.
When i caught up to him he said, "I only have a 15-minute break today, not a full lunch break." Ah, now i got it, he won't have time for a salad, so i made a half sandwich and grabbed snack items.
In honor of sticky doorknobs, children, messes, and laughter, how about we finish with the funnies.

Have a blessed and beautiful day, everyone!

*Yes, they celebrate a hot chocolate festival in the summer. It all started when the 15th of August was a feast day on which the locals always drank a bit much, and the chocolatier of the town claimed his brew was a good remedy the day after. The original festival on the 15th has ceased, but the hot chocolate is brewed to this day, served at 11am promptly.
Stickiness gives me the eeeuws. I would have made a bad parent.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the funnies (and sometimes today for the wincies).
I am glad I don't need to wear gloves now. Thanks for the sticky funnies. Lol!
ReplyDeleteGreat funnies to cheer us up. God bless.
ReplyDeleteSticky is always disgusting. I would wear a glove too if I were you. Great funnies!
ReplyDeleteGreat stories here! Happy Tuesday!
ReplyDeleteAnother 'fun day' with Carl ~ Bless you ~ and great humorous post ~ Xo
ReplyDeleteWishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

I love all the funnies, but Carl on Tuesdays is a must. What a whirlwind of fun and thank you for sharing him with all of us.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Big hug. ♥
The gloves made me laugh. When my boys were little, any time they didn't feel like taking the time to put clean clothes away, they'd just throw them down the laundry chute, didn't even take the pairs of socks apart (a dead give-away if ever there was one).
ReplyDeleteIf I were Carl's mom I would put the veil in safer place than his apartment. :) Great bunch of funnies.
ReplyDeleteStickyness is bad, and I had 6 children! Carl is just ... I love your descriptions of him and his quirky brains. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. Stickiness all around. I think Carl needs more then one person to help him. I give you credit Mimi.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day my friend.
Cruisin Paul
That was an amazing story and the funnies sure were!
ReplyDeleteI know you've said it before, but I'll just heartily agree with you here: Carl is job security!
ReplyDeleteI love the bookmark sticky note :)
ReplyDeleteI hate sticky anything and my eldest learned from me. After eating anything she would wave her hands at me saying 'ticky, ticky' until I washed them.
