They Can't Hold Still (Feline Friday) and Friendly Fill-Ins

 ***********************************

Feline Friday was started by Steve, The Burnt Food Dude, and i'm going to believe it's because he likes cats.

He has handed hosting duties off to Sandee, of Comedy Plus, and it's simple to join, just follow the link to Sandee's page for the rules and the code.

Trying to take a head count in the juvenile cat room (6 months to one year) is an exercise in patience, and sometimes futility.

Friendly Fill-Ins are easy to do. There are four statements: the first two statements are provided by Ellen of 15AndMeowing, and the final two are offered by Lorianne The Menagerie Mom of Four-Legged Furballs. They try to make sure the statements will be fun to both answer and share. The linky will be posted at or about 12:00 AM on Friday. Please head over to one of their sites, link up, and share your thoughts!

Here are this week's statements with my responses underlined:

1. I collect _________.

2. I recently treated myself to _________.

3. I used to _________ back when _________.

4. Though I have never _________, I have _________.

1. I collect   books and trivia.

2. I recently treated myself to   raw cashew nut butter (don't ask how much it costs now).

3. I used to   bottle raise orphaned kittens  back when   i wasn't working full time, and i taught the children to take care of them, also.

4. Though I have never   become fluent,   I have   continued to study Spanish, and am making slow progress.

(ETA -- i updated, or thought i did, to make sure the poem appeared and it didn't!  Doggone it, i'll get the hang of technology someday, or more likely of checking behind myself to make sure it actually worked)

It's time for the Monthly Poetry Group, hosted by Karen at Baking in a Tornado.  Participants write a poem about a topic one of us chose.  This month, Diane at On the Border chose the topic, Furniture.  Be sure to go check out all the poems.

Though sofas can be comfy,

and useful when friends drop by,

you won't catch me looking at it,

with sentiment in my eye.

My table's very helpful,

especially in this great way,

i get to sit when writing,

not stand at the counter all day.

Then there's the chair i sit on

that i wouldn't be without,

it has a special cushion to keep

my back from going out.

We mustn't forget the bar stools

which provide conveniently

a place to drop the grocery sacks

for unloading more easily.

None of these hold a candle

to my favorite of all,

it's the bed up in my bedroom,

in it i happily fall.

Yes my bed's my very favorite

of all my furnishings,

'cause after a busy day,

back to bed's my favorite thing!

  5. It's sad, how many things we used to buy at the grocery store fairly regularly that have now become a splurge.

  6. Aw on the kitties. They are trying at times, but that's what happens with most juveniles.

Love your fill-ins. The grocery store is a place to spend lots of money anymore. We have dropped many things we once enjoyed because of the high prices.

Thank you for joining the Feline Friday Blog Hop.

Have a purrfect Feline Friday and weekend. Big hug. ♥
