It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus.
You know it's been a rough week when Carl runs out of underwear -- he has 16+ pair (two weeks worth plus a few spares).
He is in luck, though. His parents are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary this weekend, we've been invited, and there are relatives coming in town. Because of that, and because they aren't going out of town on a vacation again this year, Carl asked for and got most of the next 3 weeks off.
Yes, i have to clean with him there. No, it's not that much trouble, i just shoo him to the sleep chair in the library.
When i went in yesterday, he was still in that chair, and Mr. L was having breakfast. When i asked if Carl had work, Mr. L said, "No, he's off for a bit." Carl looked over at me and said, "I get vacation!" then he closed his eyes and had the most angelic smile on his face. He was blissful as he drifted back off to sleep. He’s going to be vegetating happily for days.
Last week, he'd talked to me about a friend's pool party. "I don't know if they're serving supper or if we're all just bringing snacks." No matter what else happened, i'm guessing it was a good time.
Balloons, the sign of a good party. Also, i found spent glow sticks, even better sign. |
Also last week, he'd misplaced his phone again. He found it, under the seat of the car. "But it's not synced with the clocks at work!" he told me later when he got up to brush his teeth and have a snack before going back to nap more.
Meanwhile i found hangers everywhere, and very little in the dirty clothes basket.
There's a pile of hangers up there. |
That's not much, considering there was nothing hanging in his closet. |
Some were in the dryer, and some, unwashed, in the washer. While playing the "are these dirty" game with what i did find in various places, my most helpful tool, besides the infamous sniff test, is the "is it folded" question.
If it's still folded, it's a good bet it wasn't used.
While taking the dirty clothes out of the washer to sort them before washing, i found more concrete evidence of why his parents bought a commercial heavy duty (laundromat quality) washer and dryer.

There's always something fun to muse over at Carl's. This time, it was this.
It's not easy to tell, but the new, small TV, right next to plug on the right, is plugged in to to the socket on the left, while the lamp, on the nightstand at the left, is plugged into the socket at the far right. To do that, he had to unplug the lamp. No, i don't pretend to know why.
After i was done with Carl's apartment at the back of the house, it was time to do some extra cleaning in the rest of the house because, as noted earlier, company's coming! Sweetie came to helped, and the list got longer and longer. Of course, the screens have to come off the windows and be cleaned as well as cleaning the windows! Company’s coming, you know. Oh, and spot treat all the rug stains, too, if you don’t mind.
It's all good, and the house is as ready as i can get it. Ms. V knows she has to keep up with Carl between now and her guests' arrival.
How about some houseguest and visitor funnies.
Have a blessed and beautiful day, everyone!

ReplyDeleteI am so like that Mom when company is coming - LOL!
ReplyDeleteThose memes are funny. Somehow they remind me of my daughters: one is always busy cleaning and fixing and the other is always bemoaning life because she should be cleaning and fixing and is too tired from work. It's almost a family joke now, what those two are going to say.
ReplyDeleteThank you, and happy Tuesday!
