Just because Sandee of Comedy Plus is no longer hosting a Silly Sunday blog hop, do not expect me to quit telling Cajun jokes, especially as it has now become a habit.
As i was kissing Grandma good-bye yesterday, she whispered to me, "Don't get old!" It's a nice suggestion, but i doubt that it's practical.
Boudreaux done gots him de cousin, Arceneaux, an' he be de firs' o' de extendin' fam'ly dat become de lawyer.
Arceneaux done gots him in trouble de firs' time he be in de court. He done call hims firs' witness, an' he ax her name. She say her name, den Arceneaux ax, "How old you be, ma'am?"
Dat be when de judge come down on him hard! He say, "Mais, non! In my court, you don' ax a woman how old she be, you ax her what age she go by!"

Sunday Selections was started as a way for bloggers to use photos that might otherwise just languish in their files. The rules have been relaxed, and it is now simply a showcase for your photos, new or old, good or bad, although nothing rude, please. It was hosted by River, who still participates, and is now hosted by Elephant's Child. http://river-driftingthroughlife.blogspot.com https://myjustsostory.blogspot.com/
Becca, Mr. Cal, and the very blurry underwater turtles we were feeding, an old-fashioned dome umbrella (remember those?), a carpet salesman who sets up on an empty street corner every few weeks, some home decor, a bee and a butterfly i chased all over Mr. B's garden, with some success, and the best sunset of the week.

Ha Ha, what age does she go by? That's a good one. my mum was 36 for a couple of decades.
ReplyDeleteThe butterfly is beautiful and the carpet display is very colourful, I hope they didn't get rained on. I still see a few domed umbrellas around Adelaide on rainy days.
I think domed umbrellas are practical and if ever I see one I will buy it.
ReplyDeleteI loved the butterflies and the bees and sunsets are always special.
Great selection of photos.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
The Cajun joke has to be one of the best so far! The photos are gorgeous, especially the butterfly.
ReplyDeleteThe joke is very good and the dialect certainly adds to that. Great photos as well. Our black swallowtails are starting to look a bit bedraggled.
ReplyDeleteFun Cajun joke ~ My Mom said the same thing to me 'Don't get old' ~ I understood what she meant so I am trying to age as best I can ~
ReplyDeleteGreat series of photos ~ your ski ones are awesome Xo
