Sometimes Even Mama Has a Day, a Random and Happy Word Counters Post

 ***********************************

It's time once again for a random and happy Tuesday, linking up with Stacy's Random Thoughts at Stacy Uncorked and Sandee at Comedy Plus \\

Part of today’s post is also a writing challenge. This is how it works: one of the contributing bloggers picked a number between 12 and 50. The submitted number is a challenge to participating bloggers to write at least one piece using that exact number of words.

This month, the word count number is: 19

It was submitted by:  Karen of Baking in a Tornado

There are days when even mama the janitor lady doesn't have everything together, such as yesterday at Carl's place.

Because of a bit of digestive upset (leaving it at that, you're welcome) i was uncharacteristically ten minutes late.

He'd had a shower, so i tied an apron around him and asked him how his weekend had been.

At that moment, he said something unintelligible and tried to swallow a pill.  It went down the wrong way.

When he finished coughing and sputtering, he tried to tell me about the church sermon he'd heard this Sunday.

"It was Revelation 20, something about the second coming and how does that relate to the birth of Jesus?"

As much as i love a rousing scriptural discussion, especially of such a topic, now just wasn't the time.

Shooing him off for breakfast, i asked if he had any sandwiches made and this time, he did not.

After finding (and cleaning) his lunchbox, i set it down and went to the big kitchen to make sandwiches.

Once done, i could not find that lunchbox for love or money!  I looked until he had to leave.

Cramming his lunch into a ziplock bag, i gave it to him and went back to work quite puzzled.

Of course, the bag was right on the counter where i'd been looking so i packed tomorrow's lunch ahead.

Anyone want to bet on whether it'll still be in the fridge when i go clean the house Thursday?

In the course of cleaning, i realized another mistake, i hadn't checked under his cabinet in over two weeks.

That's where his placemat disappeared to!  It got sticky so he'd stuffed it there, grabbing another from the closet.

Two weeks ago, we also lost one of the five dryer balls.  Guess where it finally turned up yesterday?

How did it wind up in the sleeve of a shirt on a hanger?  I probably overlooked it somehow.

Yes, i'm pretty sure it was me, it was hung up too neatly on the hanger, not inside out.

  1. I am not a mother so I can smile at those funnies. I suspect that many of those who are also smile. And wince.
