It Taxes Us All (Six Sentence Story), Good Fences, Sammy's Poetry Day, and Brian's Thankful Thursday

 ***********************************

Sometimes i wish i could

live in a bubble,

with family and friends,

protected from trouble.

And if there's one thing that causes trouble in my life, it's technology, because to err is human but to really foul things up requires computers, and maybe computer programmers, the IRS, and the tax program online.

Brother-in-Law gets and keeps his knickers in a knot from the moment he gets his W-2 from work, wanting me to get his taxes done yesterday, because he can't wait to get his hands on the refund.

Brother-in-Law has me use an online program, which is fine, except this program wants to have two-step verification, which means it wants to send him a code in a text message, and he doesn't text on his flip-phone, or an email at his email address which has a 27 character (yes, really) password he can only access from a flash drive my computer doesn't read, so he has to be at work on his email to give me the code.

Once i get in, the taxes themselves only take under an hour, but getting in, then pulling the trigger on filing, which also requires a code to the same email address we had to get a code from just to get in there to begin, is quite a big production.

By the time the whole thing is over, he's that much closer to being ready for the rubber room and as for me, i need a cup of cocoa and a bubble bath.

Linking up with Denise at Girlie On The Edge Blog, where she hosts Six Sentence Stories, and the cue is Bubble.

While Good Fences Around the World seems to have gone the way of the dodo bird, i still enjoy looking for and posting interesting fences, so i will!

My eye was drawn to the fence, and the decor in front of it.

It's Angel Sammy's Poetry Day This week's image and my couplet and poem:

Yeah, we all know she knows her stuff

but music class shouldn't be so rough!

*******

She's a smart one

we all know it,

and every day

she gets to show it.

She's also very pretty,

and I tease her 'cause you see,

she doesn't know it yet

but I want her to marry me!

Brian of Brian's Home hosts the Thankful Thursday Blog Hop.   It's time to share something for which i am thankful.

  1. I think Brother-in-Law needs to simplify his system to make things easier on you. I like the poem.

  2. I am always stressed up if I have to go online to fill up forms and more stressful if I have to do it for someone else. These days, we need all kinds of apps to get things done on our own, forcing us to rely more on apps instead of humans. That is a nice poem.

  14. Both of your poetic efforts are fabulous - and with the expression on that little guy's face - things definitely could go one way OR the other emotionally! Thanks for joining in our fun on Thursdays.
